Dupuis (illness) is exempt for the NHL Expansion Draft, Craig Custance of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move, made in agreement with the NHLPA, prevents teams from using their LTIR players in order to reach the minimum exposure requirements. Super Duper has already announced his retirement due to blood clots and will no doubt go down as one of the most beloved Penguins in recent memory. In addition to Dupuis, the league's exempt list also includes Dave Bolland, Craig Cunningham, Chris Pronger, Cody McCormick, David Clarkson, Joe Vitale, Ryane Clowe, Mikhail Grabovski, Nathan Horton, and Stephane Robidas.

Dupuis will no longer play hockey because of a medical condition related to blood clots.
EDGE Analysis
Dupuis was originally diagnosed with a blood clot in Jan. 2014 after suffering torn ligaments in his knee, and was then prescribed blood thinners for six months while recovering from knee surgery. Doctors then discovered a blood clot in Dupuis' lung in Nov. 2014, which ultimately forced the 36-year-old forward to miss the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign. Dupuis was cleared to take contact in June, and made his season debut with the Penguins on Oct. 22. Unfortunately, Dupuis had to be removed from several games this season, and was even taken to the hospital on one occasion as a precautionary measure due to symptoms related to his medical condition. Dr. Dharmesh Vyas, Pittsburgh's team physician, told reporters Tuesday "Despite playing on a medical protocol that has worked for other players in the NHL, we feel that the risk of Pascal playing with his condition and the side effects of the tests to monitor him are just not in the best interest of his long-term health." It's an unfortunate end to a phenomenal career in which Dupuis racked up 409 points (190 goals, 219 assists) in 871 NHL games over 15 seasons with the Wild, Rangers, Thrashers, and Penguins. He was also a member of Pittsburgh's 2009 Stanley Cup championship team. Dupuis will continue to receive the salary he is owed for the last two years of his contract, but will be placed on long-term injured reserve in order to free up cap space and a spot on Pittsburgh's 23-man roster.

Dupuis took part in practice Thursday and is expected to play Friday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
The winger missed the third period of Tuesday's tilt as a precautionary measure to his blood clotting issues. Dupuis has scored only four points (2G, 2A) in 16 games and it's beginning to look more and more like 2015-16 will be the 15th-year NHL veteran's last.

Dupuirs (undisclosed) will play Wednesday against the Canadiens.
EDGE Analysis
Missed each of the last two games after requiring a trip to the hospital last Friday due to an undisclosed issue. However, his absence will end Wednesday, and he's expected to rejoin Sidney Crosby and Beau Bennett on the Penguins' top line.

Dupuis (undisclosed) is expected to be ready for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens, Jenn Menendez of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dupuis was taken to the hospital Friday and underwent further tests Monday, though it's still unclear exactly what he's dealing with. He indicated that everything went well Monday and that the issue is behind him, so he appears set to draw back into the lineup Wednesday after missing two games.

Dupuis (undisclosed) will not play in the Penguins' next game Saturday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dupuis underwent testing at a hospital Friday night as a precautionary measure and was unable to play in Friday's game. Fortunately the tests came back negative, but Dupuis will still be held out of Saturday's game as well. It's not clear if Dupuis will miss any further action, but he will have a few days off before the Penguins' next game Wednesday.

Dupuis will miss Friday's game after being taken to a hospital as a precaution.
EDGE Analysis
The Penguins' release said nothing else about Dupuis's conidtion. The forward missed most of last season with a blood clot and it's possible that he suffered another clot -- though the organization has not said what's wrong with him. The Pens have won five of six games with Dupuis in the starting lineup.

Dupuis found twine for the first time this season Thursday, potting a goal 56 seconds into a win over the Blackhawks. He added five hits and a plus-2 rating.
EDGE Analysis
Finally, all that time alongside Sidney Crosby is paying off; the assignment didn't produce anything in the last two games, but it's hard to keep Crosby down for too long, and Dupuis was the beneficiary, as he cleaned up the rebound after an outstanding move and shot by the star center.

Dupuis is still looking for his first point in three games after going scoreless Wednesday in Washington.
EDGE Analysis
He scored a goal Wednesday but only after the play had already been whistled dead following a hand pass. Dupuis is skating with Sidney Crosby and Patric Hornqvist and if Crosby ever gets untracked then Dupuis could be in line for his share of points. The forward has slid back into his customary penalty-killing role, finishing second with 3:11 of ice time behind Nick Bonino (3:28).

Dupuis, who saw 12:43 of ice time in his return, skated with Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel during Friday's practice, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
The winger went pointless Thursday in a 4-1 loss and bounced around the lines, moving up with Crosby for the third period. Dupuis also led the team in short-handed ice time (2:09). Perhaps most importantly, he suffered no setbacks in his first NHL action since last November. Look for a half-point per-game scoring pace going forward from the 36-year-old.
