Coach Mike Johnston said some of the feeling has returned to Dupuis's arm, which had gone numb after being cross-checked by Alex Goligoski on Thursday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. It's possible Dupuis suffered some sort of nerve injury, but the Penguins coach gave no further information on the 35-year-old forward. Dupuis, who played in only 39 games last season due to a knee injury, will almost surely miss Saturday's game (and perhaps more time) though the severity of Thursday's ailment remains unknown.

Dupuis left Thursday's game on a stretcher in the second period, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Dupuis was reportedly checked from behind and was hit in the head/neck area with the puck. the injury appears to be serious, and his situation should be updated in the future.

Dupuis compiled his first four-point game in 10 seasons Thursday, scoring one goal while adding three assists against Anaheim. His goal came at even strength and a second score was disallowed. Dupuis's helpers came at even strength, short-handed and on the man advantage, respectively. The winger, who was playing in his first game since Dec. 23, 2013 after undergoing knee surgery, also saw more than two minutes on the second-unit power play (2:07 TOI). Dupuis totaled 11:21 TOI on the man advantage last season in 39 games. New head coach Mike Johnston may give Dupuis more time on the power play, given his fine performance Thursday.

Dupuis appears set to serve as the right wing for Sidney Crosby heading into the regular season. Coach Mike Johnston sat Dupuis on Wednesday in order to give Patric Hornqvist a look with Crosby and Kunitz. After the game, however, he said he simply wanted to a right-handed shot on the line. Dupuis has fallen off the radar after missing the second half of last season, but he's two years removed from 20 goals and 38 points in 48 games. He makes for a nice, end-game sleeper pick, especially in single-season leagues.

Dupuis (knee) made his preseason debut Monday, going pointless with four shots on goal and four PIM. The 35-year-old is recovering from spring knee surgery. New head coach Mike Johnston has intimated that Dupuis might see action on the third line, but it's difficult envisioning Dupuis anywhere other than alongside Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz, at least at the beginning of 2014-15. He led Pittsburgh with 27 shifts and skated 16:28 TOI.

Dupuis (knee) is expected to play in the final two preseason games. Dupuis was cleared for contact earlier this week, and should get a chance to get some experience in before the regular season begins. The veteran winger only suited up for 39 games last year, collecting seven goals and 13 assists in the process.

Dupuis (knee) wasn't wearing a red no-contact jersey during Thursday's practice. With Dupuis presumably cleared for full contact, it may not take long before he's able to return to preseason action. The 35-year-old will be asked to fill a depth-scoring role for the Penguins this season, after he contributed 20 points in 39 games in 2013-14.

Dupuis won't take contact during the initial stages of training camp, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Though it was previously suggested that Dupuis wouldn't face any limitations entering camp, he's just a little bit behind schedule right now. He plans to begin taking contact in about a week, giving him plenty of time to get himself ready for the start of the regular season. The health of Dupuis' knee is less of a concern to fantasy players than in what capacity he might be used this season. New coach Mike Johnston has stated a preference of deploying his skaters in pairs rather than units, suggesting duty with Chris Kunitz and Sidney Crosby no longer awaits for Dupuis.

Dupuis (knee) is expected to receive clearance for full contact during training camp, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The winger looks to be progressing positively from the reconstructive knee surgery that ended his most recent season prematurely, as he was skating on the ice in a red "no-contact" jersey during Wednesday's scrimmage. Dupuis likely has only a few more steps to pass in his rehab program before being cleared for full activity, but it remains undetermined where he'll fit in with the Penguins during the upcoming season. New head coach Mike Johnston prefers to use his forwards as pairs rather than traditional lines, and with the promise of working alongside luminaries Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz no longer guaranteed, Dupuis could be in line for a sharper dropoff in his point total.

New head coach Mike Johnston, who prefers to group players in pairs rather than line units, has already paired Sidney Crosby with Chris Kunitz -- leaving Dupuis's spot on the unit in question, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Recovering from knee surgery, Dupuis has been skating three or four times per week since June and figures to be ready for the season's start. In the end, Dupuis will likely see plenty of action with Crosby and Kunitz, but the new head coach could shake things up. The 35-year-old's numbers were beginning to slip last year -- he had 20 points in 39 games before getting hurt -- but he's still probably worth half a point per game once again in 2014-15.
