Dainius Zubrus likes the makeup of the New Jersey Devils this season. "I think we're very well-packed. I think we're a very good team," Zubrus said. "I do believe we're better than last year. The year we went to the Finals a couple of years ago I thought we were definitely a good team, but now we're a little different." Zubrus went on to state that the Devils were Cup contenders. We believe the Devils have a better chance to win the Calder Cup than the Stanley Cup, but that is just us.

Dainius Zubrus has confirmed that he has re-signed with the New Jersey Devils. Tom Gulitti originally reported the deal last week and it is for three more years at $3.1 million per season. "I'm very happy," said Zubrus, who could have been an unrestricted free agent later this week. "I didn't want to go anywhere. I came here six years ago because I believe that Lou tries to put a team together to win and I'm happy. He's going to be doing that as long as he's a Devil. So, I'm happy to stay."

Dainius Zubrus denied that his new contract is finalized, but it appears to be close according to a source of the Bergen Record. According to the source, Zubrus has agreed to terms on a three-year contract for roughly $3 million per season. However, Zubrus said, "Nothing is finalized yet. It's not a done deal. [The Devils and his agent] have talked and I take it as a very positive that everything is going to go through." It may take a few more days before something official is announced.

While it's not official nor has it been signed yet, the word is that the New Jersey Devils have hammered out a three-year pact with forward Dainius Zubrus. The deal is expected to be for about $3 million per year. Zubrus is among the many concerns for GM Lou Lamoriello this summer, so the team hopes to get several potential headaches out of the way early.

Dainius Zubrus has reached an agreement with the Devils on a three-year pact, according to The Record's Tom Gulitti. Zubrus' deal is worth about $3 million a year and could take a few more days before it's announced. The 35-year-old winger notched two goals and nine points this season.

Dainius Zubrus' agent is "optimistic" that a deal can be worked out with New Jersey before July 5. "Dainius loves being a Devil and has tremendous appreciation and admiration for Lou Lamoriello and I think it's pretty mutual," agent Jerrold Colton said. "We've had ongoing dialogue and I'm hopeful that we can work things out before free agency comes around. There's a few things in the air for the Devils right now. Dainius would certainly like to stay there and it's my feeling the Devils want him and I'm pretty optimistic under those circumstances we'll be able to work something out." According to Tom Gulitti of The Bergen Record, Zubrus' new deal could be three years for about $9 million.

Dainius Zubrus can become an unrestricted free agent on July 5, but New Jersey is working at keeping him in the fold. GM Lou Lamoriello is speaking with Zubrus' representatives about a contract extension. The Devils want to sign him before free agency opens.

Saturday afternoon's game against the Rangers could be the last contest Dainius Zubrus plays as a New Jersey Devil. He is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent July 1st and there is no indication whether Devil GM Lou Lamoriello will make an attempt to re-sign him. Patrik Elias and David Clarkson, who are also UFA's, stand a better chance of returning to the Jersey shore.

Dainius Zubrus wasn't happy with his performance Monday night, but said his surgically repaired wrist was fine. Zubrus, who played for the first time since Feb. 5, didn't have a shot and finished with a minus-1 rating in 14:14 of ice time. "Obviously, I don't feel like I played a good game," he said. "I wasn't creating much. A big part of my game is when we're in their end and cycling, protecting pucks and creating chances, and I wasn't able to do that. That's frustrating." He has four points in 10 games this season.

Devils coach Pete DeBoer is comfortable with Dainius Zubrus (wrist) returning Monday. Zubrus also said that he's back, so adjust your lineups accordingly. Look for him to play alongside Adam Henrique and Matt D'Agostini.
