Dainius Zubrus sustained a charley horse to his right thigh after he received a kneeing hit from Philadelphia's Zac Rinaldo during the second period. "I'm sure I'm going to work on it a bit, but it's a muscle, so I'm happy it's nothing else," he said. Zubrus was targeted by the Flyers several times in the series, but he remained in the lineup and should be available when the Devils open their next playoff series in the Eastern Conference Finals. He produced two goals and three assists over five contests versus Philadelphia.

Dainius Zubrus says he does not disagree with the one-game suspension the league dealt Cluade Giroux for his hit to Zubrus' head in Game 4. Zubrus was shaken, but fortunately otherwise uninjured from Giroux's hit to the head in Game 4. He went on to score the game-winning goal and insurance tally into an empty-net. Zubrus is 2-2-4 and plus-5 in the series.

Dainius Zubrus felt "fine" on Monday following Claude Giroux's questionable hit on him during Sunday's game. Giroux appeared to make contact with Zubrus' head and Zubrus was leveled as a result of the blow. However, Zubrus was able to stay in the game. Unless we hear something to the contrary, we'll continue to operate under the belief that Zubrus will be available for Game 5 on Tuesday.

Right winger Danius Zubrus produced a goal and an assist to spark the visiting New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 triumph over the Florida Panthers in the first game of their best-of-seven playoff series Friday night. Despite winning by only a goal, the Devils dominated in this one. By the time the game was six minutes old, New Jersey had 12 shots on Florida goaltender Jose Theodore. The Devils were ahead 3-0 after the first period. The Panthers scored both of their goals in the second period. Also scoring for the Devils were Patrik Elias and Ryan Carter. Carter's goal was unassisted. Zubrus's goal, on a power play, was assisted by David Clarkson and goaltending star Martin Brodeur. Elias opened the scoring after being set up by Zubrus and Bryce Salvador.

Dainius Zubrus moved up to New Jersey's second line at practice on Wednesday. He had been centering Alexei Ponikarovsky and Steve Bernier on the third line, but he replaced David Clarkson alongside Petr Sykora and Patrik Elias during the session. Zubrus has not recorded a goal in his past 10 games, but he has collected five assists during that span.

With Adam Henrique sidelined with a groin injury, Dainius Zubrus has done a great job filling in during his return to center. "We're asking him to jump into a spot that isn't a natural position for him out of necessity and he's done a good job," coach Pete DeBoer said. "I think it makes it a little easier to convince him this is going to work when your wingers are [Zach] Parise and [Ilya] Kovalchuk. He's been good and we need him there. He's a versatile guy. He can play a little bit everywhere." The move has had a trickle down effect on the roster though, which has forced David Clarkson to move up to play in Zubrus' previous spot alongside Patrik Elias and Petr Sykora.

Dainius Zubrus will play on the Devils' top line with Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk on Saturday. Zubrus is filling in for Adam Henrique, who is day-to-day with a minor groin strain. Zubrus will probably fall in the depth charts once Henrique returns.

Dainius Zubrus potted his 200th career goal in the New Jersey Devils' 3-2 overtime setback to the Ottawa Senators on Monday night. Zubrus' goal was only his 11th of the season, so he's not worth much of a look in fantasy leagues at this point. David Clarkson also scored (his 14th) giving the feisty winger three goals in his last four games, but his penalty in overtime cost the Devils as the Sens would score on the man advantage. More valuable for the penalty minutes he can accumulate, Clarkson also has the ability to pop in a few goals here and there, but this goal-scoring pace is far and away his best ever of his career. It's safe to say he'll eclipse his season-best 17 goals from 2008-09. Petr Sykora, Travis Zajac and Mattias Tedenby all had helpers in the loss.
