Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said McFadden is "still in the picture" for the Dallas running game, the team's official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
McFadden and Alfred Morris both saw their 2016 stock plummet when the Cowboys drafted Ezekiel Elliott at No. 4 overall. The rookie profiles as a three-down workhorse in the NFL, possibly even taking on such a role by Week 1. McFadden won't necessarily disappear from the offense, but it's quite possible that he merely ends up battling Morris for whatever scraps Elliott leaves behind. Granted, there might still be handcuff appeal in such a scenario, as the Cowboys have a phenomenal offensive line.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he still views McFadden as the starting running back but expects free-agent signee Alfred Morris to have a substantiative role, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones is probably getting a bit ahead of himself, as Morris might be able to take over the starting job with strong showings in training camp and the preseason. It is fair to assume that McFadden will open camp as the first-team running back, coming off a season in which he recorded 1,417 scrimmage yards while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Receiving specialist Lance Dunbar (knee) could also be in the mix for a significant role, potentially creating a three-headed backfield.

The Cowboys signed Alfred Morris to join McFadden and Lance Dunbar (knee) in the backfield, the Cowboys' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite averaging 4.6 yards on 239 carries last season, McFadden was bound to face competition in 2016, as his success was largely the product of running behind an excellent offensive line. Alfred Morris is coming off an ugly final season in Washington, but he's still only 27 years old and otherwise has a strong track record. The Cowboys also hope to have a healthy Lance Dunbar, who caught 21 passes over the first three weeks of the 2015 season before going down with a torn ACL.

McFadden rushed for 92 yards on 12 carries, and hauled in 5-of-8 targets for 53 yards Sunday against the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
McFadden closed the season with his fourth straight rushing performance over 90 yards, but his inability to score over that span was reflective of his season-long struggle to get into the end zone. The 28-year-old running back finishes 2015 with just three touchdowns despite topping 1000 rushing yards for just the second time in his eight-year career.

McFadden ran for 99 yards in 19 carries and lost a yard in catching his only target in Sunday's loss to the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old ran well despite another anemic performance by the Dallas offense, and he came within a yard of his sixth 100-yard performance of the season. McFadden also now sits just three yards shy of the 1,000-yard mark for the campaign, as he looks to stake his claim as the go-to back heading into 2016. McFadden will look to cap off his fine season versus the Redskins next week.

McFadden carried 16 times for 100 yards in Saturday night's 19-16 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
McFadden has hit the 100-yard rushing mark two straight games. The Cowboys made a switch at quarterback to the inexperienced Kellen Moore. That inexperience could lead to a heavier reliance on the running game and McFadden next week at Buffalo.

McFadden ran for 111 yards on just nine carries in Sunday's 28-7 loss at Green Bay. He failed to catch his lone target.
EDGE Analysis
With just 64 yards on 24 totes over the previous two games, McFadden seemed to be wearing down a bit, after a heavy workload between Weeks 7-11, when he carried the ball a total of 122 times. However, he ripped off runs of 50 and 45 yards Sunday, although Robert Turbin was the RB to score for the Cowboys, finishing with seven carries for 51 yards. The matchups don't look great for McFadden over the next two weeks, with the Jets and Bills next up on the schedule.

McFadden rushed 14 times for 53 yards and a touchdown, but also lost two fumbles in Monday night's win over the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
McFadden also caught one pass for six receiving yards. While the veteran running back scored the Cowboys' lone touchdown from six yards out with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter, two fumbles hurt McFadden's fantasy performance. Despite those mishaps, McFadden was still trusted down the stretch, so it seems his stating role will remain intact ahead of Sunday's game in Green Bay.

McFadden (groin) ran the ball 10 times for 11 yards in Thursday's loss to the Panthers, and caught four of six targets for 45 yards.
EDGE Analysis
The receptions salvaged some of his value in PPR leagues, but otherwise it was a disappointing performance for McFadden. Tony Romo was re-injured in the game and could be lost for the rest of the season, so McFadden could begin to lose touches to Robert Turbin and other, younger backs as the Cowboys begin to look ahead to 2016.

McFadden (groin) is active for Thursday's contest against the Panthers, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
McFadden is likely the safest play among the skill-position players in Dallas due to his immense workload. Expect him to surpass 20 touches for a sixth game in a row against a Carolina defense that has given up 120.5 total yards per outing to running backs this season.
