Marshall (shoulder) is unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Patriots, ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall returned to practice Monday and should be fine for Week 1, but he likely wouldn't play in the preseason finale even if there were no injury at play. His availability for the start of the season is much less a question than that of Odell Beckham (ankle).

Marshall (shoulder) took part in the team portion of Monday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Returning to team drills doesn't necessarily mean Marshall was uninhibited, but it's certainly a positive development within a banged-up receiving corps. Elsewhere, Odell Beckham and Tavarres King remained on the sidelines due to respective ankle injuries, the former of which is the most worrisome by a long shot. If Beckham is a DNP in Week 1, Marshall would represent the top option in the passing attack for Eli Manning, though second-year wideout Sterling Shepard could give the veteran a run for his money.

Marshall (shoulder) isn't playing in Saturday's preseason game against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants won't be taking any chances with Marshall's injured shoulder. Since Odell Beckham (ankle) is also out Saturday, Sterling Shepard and Roger Lewis will operate as the starting wideouts.

Marshall didn't take part in Thursday's practice, NFL.com reports. According to head coach Ben McAdoo, Marshall continues to get treatment on his injured shoulder.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall was believed to have avoided any serious injury stemming from the hard hit to his left shoulder during Monday's preseason game in Cleveland. However, he's now missed back-to-back practices to focus on rehab, which seemingly places a cloud over his availability for Saturday's preseason game against his old squad, the Jets.

Marshall, who hurt his shoulder during Monday's preseason game against the Browns, is believed to have avoided any serious injury and will be fine moving forward, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall's shoulder injury appears to be minor, though it remains unclear if he'll be kept out of practice at all throughout the remainder of the week. If the Giants elect to proceed cautiously, his status could even be in question for the team's upcoming preseason tilt against the Jets on Saturday. Sterling Shepard would be in line for an expanded role if Marshall is kept to the sideline, especially after the injury to Odell Beckham (ankle) as well.

Marshall who left Monday's game with a sore shoulder required X-rays, but tweeted out an apparently positive message afterwards.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall's flexed muscle emoji is hardly a substitute for medical diagnosis, but it's at least a sign that he's not seriously hurt. Should Marshall's injury turn out to be something more significant, Sterling Shepard would see an uptick in targets.

Marshall is under evaluation for a shoulder injury, Tom Rock of Newsday Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants' receiving corps is seemingly under a state of emergency after both Marshall and Odell Beckham (ankle) left Monday's exhibition against with injuries. However, there's no reason to panic yet since there's nothing to suggest either one is dealing with any sort of long-term issue. Look for both players' statuses to be updated as the week unfolds.

Marshall has been in communication with quarterback Eli Manning since the Giants' offseason program ended in hopes of easing his transition into the team's offense, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall and Manning have been in touch through FaceTime, allowing the veteran receiver to clear up questions regarding things like timing and signals in New York's offense. The 33-year-old Marshall, who signed a two-year deal with the Giants this offseason, said he didn't start feeling comfortable in his new team's scheme until the last couple weeks of its offseason program. His continued work with Manning since then only figures to aid his acclimation process ahead of training camp. From there, Marshall will hope to provide a big-bodied target to complement the dynamic duo of Odell Beckham and Sterling Shepard alongside him.

Marshall said he plans to play two more seasons, ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Released by the Jets early in the offseason, Marshall signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Giants on March 8. He celebrated his 33rd birthday a couple weeks later, making him one of the oldest projected starters at his position in the NFL. While coming off an inefficient, injury-plagued campaign in a miserable Jets offense, Marshall did look the part of a No. 1 wideout as recently as 2015, when he caught 109 of 174 targets for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns. He won't get that kind of volume in an offense which also features Odell Beckham and Sterling Shepard, but it is possible the 33-year-old will establish himself as Eli Manning's second-favorite option in what could be a high-powered passing attack. Though he plans to play out both seasons of his contract, Marshall could reevaluate after the season if he doesn't perform to his usual standards and/or the Giants win a Super Bowl. He's yet to make a playoff appearance in 11 NFL seasons.

Marshall signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Giants Wednesday, Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall would provide a massive target opposite Odell Beckham with second-year man Sterling Shepard often operating out of the slot. Marshall turns 33 in a couple weeks and is coming off a down year, but he dealt with poor quarterback play on the Jets. While Eli Manning is hardly a star, he's a significant upgrade over what the Jets trotted out last season.
