Marshall was released by the Jets on Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets continued their course in creating a younger roster with Marshall's release Thursday after releasing Nick Mangold and Darrelle Revis earlier in the offseason. According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, Marshall's release gives the team an additional $7.5 million in cap space heading into the new league year. Marshall had a disappointing 2016 campaign in New York, catching 59 of 128 targets for 788 yards and three touchdowns. That said, Marshall is just one year removed from a 1,502-yard season in which he had 14 scores. Despite being 33 when the season begins, Marshall still figures to garner interest from several clubs looking to add a big possession receiver and red zone threat. As it stands, New York's top three receivers are Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, and Robby Anderson; however, Marshall's release could lead to the front office looking to bolster the receiving corps in the draft.

Marshall (hip/shoulder) caught 59 passes (on 128 targets) for 788 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games played this season.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall's production dwarfed his 109/1,502/14 stat line from last season, contributing toward the Jets' significant regression. While it was always going to be difficult for the 32-year-old to match last year's output, the fact that Eric Decker (shoulder) played just three games this season should've benefited Marshall's fantasy stock. Although New York's quarterback play proved wildly unreliable, Marshall's seven drops didn't help the team's cause, and his 47.2 catch percentage ranked 143rd out of 144 qualifying players, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports. After frustrations from both he and the Jets' season boiled over toward the end of the campaign, it'll be interesting to monitor Marshall's situation as he enters the final year of his contract this offseason.

Marshall (hip/shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, ESPN's Rich Cimini indicates that it's his sense that Marshall will "try to play" Sunday, but that's not a lock to occur, with the 4-11 Jets out of playoff contention. Over his last three games, Marshall has mustered just six catches for 77 yards and has thus seen his fantasy lineup appeal taper off in the process.

Marshall (hip/shoulder) didn't practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Back-to-back missed sessions cloud Marshall's Week 17 status, with his level of practice participation Friday (if any) likely to be telling with regard to the wideout's chances of finishing up the 2016 season without missing a game.

Marshall (hip/shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall hasn't missed a game during his two-season stint with the Jets, but he's banged up heading into Sunday's game against the Bills and his status will need to be monitored in advance of that contest. Over his last three outings, Marshall has combined for just six catches for 77 yards and has thus seen his fantasy lineup appeal dwindle of late.

Marshall left Saturday's game against the Patriots with a hip injury.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to his exit, Marshall caught two of his four targets for 28 yards. With the Jets being blown out by the Patriots in the contest, Marshall could well remain sidelined Saturday, as a precaution.

Marshall (shoulder, back) is is listed as active for Saturday's game against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall will give it a go Saturday, as expected, though it's possible that he may not see his full allotment of snaps in the contest. In last week's loss to the Dolphins, the wideout was on the field for 73 of the Jets' 76 snaps on offense and hauled in just one of his 11 targets for 16 yards. While some sort of rebound Saturday remains plausible, Robby Anderson is presently the Jets' wideout to own, given his rapport with QB Bryce Petty.

Though listed as questionable by the Jets , Marshall (shoulder, back) is expected to play Saturday against the Patriots, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per the report, while he's expected to be a go Saturday, Marshall may not see his full allotment of snaps in the contest. In Week 15's loss to the Dolphins, Marshall was on the field for 73 of the Jets' 76 snaps on offense and caught just one of his 11 targets for 16 yards. While a bounce-back of some sort Saturday is still plausible, right now Robby Anderson is the Jets' wideout to own.

Marshall (shoulder, back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Patriots, NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marshall was limited at practice this week, but ESPN's Rich Cimini expects the veteran wideout to be a go Saturday. Despite having been on the field for 73 of the Jets' 76 snaps on offense in Week 15's loss to the Dolphins, Marshall caught just one of his 11 targets for 16 yards. While a rebound of some level Saturday is plausible, Robby Anderson looks like the Jets' wideout to own these days.
