Cromartie announced his retirement from the NFL on his Instagram account Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie was released by the Colts after Week 4 of 2016 and hasn't caught on with another team since that time. The 2006 first-round pick had 416 tackles and 31 interceptions in 162 games, most notably picking off 10 passes for the Chargers in 2007 as part of a team that reached the AFC championship game. Cromartie had at least two interceptions and played 15 or more games each season from 2007 to 2014. He'll turn 34 in April.

Cromartie was released by the Colts, the Indianapolis Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie was benched in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, but this is still a surprise. The Colts have regained depth in the secondary with several players returning from injury, but it still seems like they could have used Cromartie in a reserve role.

Cromartie was a full participant in Thursday's practice after missing time during the week due to a ribs injury, Colts' writer Kevin Bowen reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a shoulder injury that took Cromartie out of the Colts' Week 2 game against the Broncos, but it appears he may have suffered a minor rib injury as well. Regardless of the injury, his full participation likely means he won't be held out of the team's Week 3 tilt against San Diego.

Cromartie is questionable to return to Sunday's contest after injuring his shoulder, Troy Renck of Denver7 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie has been riddled with injuries as of late, but the shoulder injury that he suffered Sunday remains relatively obscure. Though there is a chance that Cromartie will return to action, Darryl Morris is in line to play during his temporary absence.

Cromartie (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 reports.
EDGE Analysis
With starting cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Patrick Robinson both inactive for Sunday's game, Cromartie, along with Darius Butler, will take on the responsibility of containing the Bronco's talented wide receiving corps.

Cromartie (hamstring) is considered questionable for Week 2's matchup against the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie has been limited throughout the week in practice, while his injury doesn't appear to be anything too serious. The Colts figure to try and get him on the field Sunday as their secondary is already very thin.

Cromartie (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie's appearance on the injury report comes at poor timing for an Indianapolis secondary already dealing with a slew of injuries. While it's unclear when this setback occurred, as well as how severe it may be, his level of participation during this week's forthcoming practice sessions will shed more light on his status for Week 2.

Cromartie had two tackles in Sundays loss to Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
He played 61 of 64 snaps but didn't look like the top player of earlier in his career has he gave up several big plays. Still, he'll get plenty of playing time with six other members of the secondary injured.

Cromartie will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, Mike Chappell of IndySportsCentral.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie agreed to terms on a contract with the Colts on Monday, so he likely still needs time to get acclimated with the team's defensive playbook. He'll be held out Saturday and could potentially sit out the team's preseason finale on Sept. 1 as well, although he's not in danger of missing any regular season action.

Cromarti came to terms on a contract with the Colts on Monday, Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cromartie was released by the Jets in February and is entering his eleventh season in the league. He started 15 games with the Jets last season, but failed to record an interception for the first time since his rookie season. He figures to add depth to the Colts' banged-up defensive backfield.
