Free agent CB Antonio Cromartie is "open" to playing for the Redskins, but they've yet to express interest. The Washington Post reported Monday that the 'Skins were more interested in Aqib Talib, Corey Graham and Captain Munnerlyn, but the first two are off the market, while Munnerlyn is visiting the Vikings. The fact that Cromartie is already leaking who he's "open" to playing for is a sign his market is ice cold. Regardless, the 'Skins have a need opposite DeAngelo Hall.

The Redskins have not expressed interest in free agent CB Antonio Cromartie. Per the Washington Post, the Skins are more interested in free agent corners Aqib Talib, Corey Graham and Captain Munnerlyn. They're all younger and coming off far better seasons than Cromartie, whose hip issues played a role in his 2013 tank job. Cromartie's market is completely unknown right now.

Antonio Cromartie doesn't need to undergo surgery on his troublesome hip, and expects to be "100 percent" by the end of next month. Cromartie has also vowed to be better than he was in his stellar 2012 season. Going on 30, Cro just needs to worry about being better than he was in his rough 2013. Fully expected to be a salary-cap casualty - by his own admission - Cromartie still hopes to return to the Jets for 2014.

Antonio Cromartie reiterated Wednesday that he expects to be a cap casualty. In addition to his $4.3 million salary next season, Cro is due a $5 million roster bonus in March. "Just because my cap number is very high," Cro said when asked why he believed he'd be cut. "And I had one of the worst seasons of my career. ... I just had a bad year. That falls heavily on me and no one else." Cro also maintained that he hopes to re-sign with the Jets and finish his career in New York. Cro's public willingness to re-sign even before he's cut loose is a sign the sides should be able to figure something out.

The Jets will save $9.5 million in salary cap space when they release Antonio Cromartie. The transaction is considered a formality to avoid Cromartie's $5 million offseason roster bonus. Cromartie has stated publicly he wants to re-sign with the Jets even they cut him, and retire with Gang Green. Cromartie is coming off of a horrific season, but is a Rex Ryan favorite, and the Jets couldn't upgrade on his talent with limited cap room. We suspect "Cro" will re-sign for a relatively cheap sum over three or four years. He turns 30 in April.

Antonio Cromartie expects to be released by the Jets. Cromartie is entering the final year of his contract and is scheduled to count $15 million against the 2014 salary cap. Both he and ESPN New York expect Gang Green to sever ties before a $5 million roster bonus is due in March. Cromartie will turn 30 in April, may need hip surgery, and is coming off a horrific season. He hopes to re-sign with Nw York after testing the waters.
