Cromartie's left knee injury isn't structural, but he's been diagnosed with a hyperextended knee and bone bruise, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports. Cromartie was removed from Sunday's victory versus the 49ers in the third quarter, and an MRI later confirmed the nature of the injury. With a bye on tap in Week 4, the 30-year-old cornerback is expected to be cleared for Arizona's next game on Oct. 5 in Denver, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. If Cromartie doesn't recover as expected, though, Jerraud Powers is a capable fill-in, with 11 tackles (10 solo) and one interception to his name in 2014.

Cromartie, who injured the same left knee that has given him problems in the past, will undergo an MRI, FOX Sports 910's Mike Jurecki reports. After exiting in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers, Cromartie never managed to return. If the veteran misses time beyond Sunday, Jerraud Powers will likely step in as a starter, and could become a viable IDP option working alongside Patrick Peterson.

Cromartie left Sunday's game against the 49ers with a left knee injury, and he is questionable to return, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports. At the time of his exit in the third quarter, Cromartie had no tackles and one pass defense. He was replaced by Jerraud Powers, leaving Justin Bethel to work as the third cornerback.

Cromartie recorded three tackles and a pass defended during Sunday's victory versus the Giants at New York. In Week 2, Cromartie rarely took a breather, taking the field for 70-of-72 defensive snaps, FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports. At some point in his first season in the Arizona desert, he'll almost certainly contribute in the interception column working opposite Patrick Peterson, but through two games, Cromartie has just six tackles (five solo) and no other counting stats. Nonetheless, Cromartie's track record -- he's averaged three per season since picking off 10 in 2007 -- should keep him in the hearts and minds of IDP owners for the time being.

Cromartie (chest) recorded an interception while covering Ted Ginn in Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. The one-handed pick occurred in the end zone with the receiver running a fade route, but the takeaway was important for another reason: Cromartie is back in action after missed practices last week due to a pectoral injury. Running opposite the newly-minted Patrick Peterson should help Cromartie rack up a significant number of passes defended and, by proxy, interceptions this coming season.

Antonio Cromartie claims to have ran a 4.36 forty during an offseason workout. It's obviously not an official time, but Cromartie looks fully healthy after playing through a hip injury in 2013. The Cardinals are counting on a bounce back year from Cromartie, bookending him with shadow CB Patrick Peterson. Cromartie was clocked at 4.47 during the 2006 Combine.

Antonio Cromartie showed no signs of his 2013 hip injury during OTAs and minicamp. Cromartie was one of the best corners in the league in 2012 and then one of the worst in 2013. The Cardinals are hoping that sharp decline was due to a hip injury first sustained way back in 2008 and then aggravated last season. If Cromartie is right, he'll form a very nice bookend with Patrick Peterson.

The New York Post reports the Jets "aren't being very aggressive" in trying to re-sign free agent CB Antonio Cromartie. Cromartie wants to return and play for Rex Ryan, but he isn't going to play for peanuts. We'd guess he'd take a deal similar to Cortland Finnegan's with the Dolphins -- two years and $11 million. But GM John Idzik seems hellbent on playing it slow and letting the market come to him. It's already cost the Jets Vontae Davis and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Cromartie has drawn interest from the Cardinals. Aside from them, his market has been quiet.

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reports free agent Antonio Cromartie "wants to return" to the Jets. This isn't really a secret, as Cromartie made it clear late last season that he wants to retire a Jet. It's just unclear whether the feeling is mutual. The Jets are "still interested" in free agent Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and aren't known to be pursuing Cromartie. Cromartie turns 30 next month.
