That's got to be a relief for Kassian, who scored two goals in the first six games of the season and hasn't seen the back of the net since. With an ice time average of 11:59 and only 12 points on the year, his utility in most fantasy formats is limited to hits (97) and penalty minutes (72).

With just nine points -- two goals -- through 32 games, Kassian's fantasy value lies in his willingness to spend time in the penalty box. He has 57 PIM for the year, and despite some opportunities to skate in a more offensively inclined role, the 25-year-old winger looks locked into fourth-line duty for the foreseeable future. It hinders his fantasy upside.

Kassian sniped a goal into the upper corner during the second period, but on review, he was just barely offside entering the zone. That goal would have snapped a 22-game stretch without a goal. Kassian has fully recovered from the undisclosed injury that has forced him to miss the Oilers' last three games, and could return to Edmonton's lineup as soon as Sunday against the Rangers.

Kassian was great in just 11:13 of ice time, skating to a plus-2, recording three shots on goal and dishing out a couple hits in the outdoor victory. The former Canuck currently has a decent assignment on an above average third line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Benoit Pouliot, so maybe this could be the year he challenges his 29-point career high from 2013-14 after a couple down seasons.

Kassian signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Oilers on Thursday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
