Zach Parise had a game-high eight shots on goal in America's 1-0 loss to Canada in the Olympic semifinals.
America scored 20 goals in its previous four games, but Canada's defense and Carey Price did a great job of neutralizing that potent offense. Phil Kessel, who is tied for the tournament lead with five goals, also recorded four shots on goal against Canada, but had nothing to show for it.

Zach Parise and Team USA clinched second seed in the Olympic tournament after a thrilling preliminary round that resulted in two blowout victories and a shootout win over Russia.
Sweden takes the top seed heading into the elimination games since all three of their preliminary wins came in regulation. Team USA draws the winner of Czech Republic - Slovakia in the quarterfinals, and are on a collision course with Canada looking ahead to the semifinals. Looking way ahead to the Gold Medal Game, Team USA could face Sweden, Russia, Finland or one of the weaker teams in the case of a major upset.

Team USA captain Zach Parise skated on a line with fellow Minnesotans David Backes and T.J. Oshie in practice Monday.
Coach Dan Bylsma is sure to juggle his lines throughout the tournament, but he has started by capitalizing on familiarity among certain players. Maple Leafs forwards Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk will skate together on a line with the Sharks' Joe Pavelski while another unit will be made up of Dustin Brown, Patrick Kane and Ryan Kesler - a trio that clicked for the Americans in Vancouver in 2010.

Zach Parise had two goals and two assists in Minnesota's 5-4 loss to Colorado Thursday night.
Parise has three goals and four assists in four games since returning from a foot injury that caused him to miss 14 games. Mikael Granlund also had a strong outing with a goal and two assists, while Jason Pominville scored a goal and registered an assist for the Wild.

Zach Parise failed to produce a point in his first two games back from a broken foot, but he made a grand return to the scoresheet Tuesday night with a goal and two assists to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 4-2 win against the Ducks at Honda Center.
Parise now has 16 goals and 14 assists in 40 games this season. Jason Pominville and Mikael Granlund both had a goal and an assist for the Wild, while defenseman Marco Scandella added two helpers in the win. Rookie Erik Haula also scored in the victory.

Zach Parise didn't have a point or a shot in Thursday's win over Chicago.
He was playing in his first game back after missing 14 with a foot injury. Parise logged 19:34 of ice time in the contest and he said he felt good: "Actually, really good. No hesitations, I felt like I had good energy, and good jump. So it was a good first one, I thought." Look for him to make more of an impact on the stat sheet on Saturday.
