Tarasenko scored his second goal of the preseason in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss against Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko snapped one past Anton Forsberg from the top of the left circle to open the scoring for the Red Wings in Friday's loss. Tarasenko could challenge for 30 goals in 2024-25 for the first time since 2021-22, playing on a line with Patrick Kane. Tarasenko has been fairly durable over the last three years as well -- he's appeared in at least 69 contests per season during that span. The two-time Stanley Cup champion will occupy a top-six role and skate with one of Detroit's power-play units.

Tarasenko signed a two-year, $9.5 million contract with the Red Wings on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko had 23 goals and 55 points across 76 regular-season contests between Ottawa and Florida in 2023-24. He also supplied five goals and nine points in 24 playoff games to aid the Panthers in their Cup-winning run. The 32-year-old has surpassed the 60-point milestone on six occasions with the most recent example being 2021-22, when he finished with 34 goals and 82 points in 75 outings with St. Louis. Tarasenko isn't a safe bet to reach the 60-point mark at this stage of his career, but it also can't be ruled out. At worst, he should be a solid middle-six option for Detroit as long as he stays healthy.

Tarasenko scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Saturday's 8-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 4.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko's goal in the first period pulled the Panthers within one, but they were unable to build on it as the Oilers ran away with the game. The winger has three goals and an assist over his last five contests, a rare run of consistency for him this postseason. Overall, he's at nine points, 40 shots, 41 hits and a plus-5 rating through 21 playoff outings.

Tarasenko scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Oilers in Game 3.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko put the Panthers ahead 2-1 with his second-period tally on a feed from Eetu Luostarinen. While Tarasenko hasn't played a starring role for the Panthers, he's scored a goal in all four of their series and added four assists over 20 playoff contests. He's also posted 37 shots on net, 39 hits and a plus-6 rating while filling a third-line role with power-play time.

Tarasenko scored a goal that stood as the game-winner in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Rangers in Game 6.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko registered his first point of the series when he gave Florida a 2-0 lead just before the midway point of the third period. The 32-year-old has faced his share of struggles during the postseason -- he was recently demoted to the third line after serving mostly in a top-six role since he was traded from Ottawa. Still, he came up clutch against his former team in Game 6, so perhaps this game serves as a confidence booster for Tarasenko going forward. The Russian native has three goals and three assists and a plus-4 rating in 17 postseason contests.

Tarasenko recorded an assist in Monday's 6-1 win over the Lightning in Game 5.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko provided decent depth offense in the first round, earning a goal, two assists and four shots on net over five games. He also had eight hits and five blocked shots. Tarasenko's ice time has been limited so far in the playoffs, and that will make it difficult for him to put up more points as the matchups get tougher.

Tarasenko picked up a goal and two assists in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko was involved in all three of Florida's third-period goals, deflecting a Niko Mikkola shot past Ilya Samsonov to cut the deficit to 5-2 before adding a pair of assists later in the frame. The 32-year-old Tarasenko has three goals and six points in his last five games after going scoreless in his previous five contests. He's up to 22 goals and 50 points across 69 games between Florida and Ottawa this season.

Tarasenko scored twice and added an assist in a 5-1 win over Calgary on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko got his first points with the Panthers during his second outing with the team. He put Florida up 1-0 just 23 seconds into the second period when he intercepted a clearing pass from Jonathan Huberdeau deep in the Flames' zone and fired it past Jacob Markstrom. His second tally of the contest went through Markstrom later in the same frame. The 32-year-old Tarasenko has been playing on a line with Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart, which will help him with his two-way play. There's no downside to putting Tarasenko into your lineup. He is out to prove he can be a player of consequence again, and so far, so good.

The Panthers acquired Tarasenko from the Senators on Wednesday in exchange for a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tarasenko may not be the 30-goal scorer he was during his prime years in St. Louis, but he should still slot into a top-six role with the Panthers, possibly relegating Nick Cousins to the third line. In addition, the 32-year-old Tarasenko should get some power-play minutes as well, considering he has registered eight of his 41 points this season with the man advantage.

Tarasenko scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Friday's 5-3 loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old winger got Ottawa on the board late in the first period with a one-timer from a sharp angle, then set up Shane Pinto for a second-period tally. It was Tarasenko's first multi-point effort since Jan. 13, but he's been a steady contributor of late -- in 11 games since the All-Star break, he's collected three goals and seven points.
