At worst, he should be a solid middle-six option for Detroit as long as he stays healthy.

The 32-year-old has faced his share of struggles during the postseason -- he was recently demoted to the third line after serving mostly in a top-six role since he was traded from Ottawa. Still, he came up clutch against his former team in Game 6, so perhaps this game serves as a confidence booster for Tarasenko going forward. The Russian native has three goals and three assists and a plus-4 rating in 17 postseason contests.

Tarasenko recorded an assist in Monday's 6-1 win over the Lightning in Game 5.

The 32-year-old Tarasenko has been playing on a line with Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart, which will help him with his two-way play. There's no downside to putting Tarasenko into your lineup. He is out to prove he can be a player of consequence again, and so far, so good.

The Panthers acquired Tarasenko from the Senators on Wednesday in exchange for a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.

Tarasenko may not be the 30-goal scorer he was during his prime years in St. Louis, but he should still slot into a top-six role with the Panthers, possibly relegating Nick Cousins to the third line. In addition, the 32-year-old Tarasenko should get some power-play minutes as well, considering he has registered eight of his 41 points this season with the man advantage.
