If you are looking for a sleeper pick, Travis Zajac could be your man.
He is listed far down in Yahoo pools because he missed almost all of the 2011-12 season due to an achilles injury. However, he is fully healthy now and is set to center the Devils' top line, likely alongside Ilya Kovalchuk, and anchor the team's first power play. We wouldn't be surprised if he registered 40 points this season. Not bad for someone ranked 600 in Yahoo pre-draft rankings.

Travis Zajac is fully recovered after missing all but 15 regular season games in 2011-12 because of torn left Achilles tendon.
Zajac spent the last month or so in Winnipeg skating with a group of 10 other players and feels great. "There's been no problems whatsoever," Zajac said of his Achilles. "I'm 100 percent feeling good and ready to get going." Zajac plans to participate in an informal skate with his Devils' teammates Tuesday morning at Prudential Center.

Travis Zajac is reportedly mulling over several offers from European clubs.
His agent, Kurt Overhardt said Monday, "He might be going over to play in the next few weeks. He has had several opportunities that we continue to evaluate overseas." Zajac skated in only 15 regular-season games last season because of an Achilles tendon injury prior to appearing in 24 playoff contests, so he could use the time overseas to knock off some rust.

Travis Zajac will leave Winnipeg and return to New Jersey to discuss opportunities to play in Europe with his agent.
Zajac had been hopeful a deal could be struck soon to end the NHL lockout. However, with this past week's turn of events he will look to play in Europe for the foreseeable future. Look for many other NHLers to ink deals this week with European or Russian clubs.

Travis Zajac was back skating in Winnipeg at the MTS Iceplex on Monday.
"It's better for family reasons here and there's more guys here," said the Winnipeg native. "And having a coach (Focus Fitness's J.P. Vigier) run the ice is big; it keeps things fresh and it keeps us entertained out there and working hard. J.P. has been great for us." Mike Richards of the Los Angeles Kings was also among the group that skated on Monday.

Travis Zajac is not planning on playing in Europe in the very near future.
The underrated Devil pivot returned to his home in Winnipeg this week to work out with a number of Jets' players and others. Zajac believes a deal can be struck to end the lockout in weeks as opposed to months and that going to play in Europe is an option only for a prolonged work stoppage. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't (thinking about playing in Europe)," Zajac said. "But I'm still hanging around; I have some optimism about things starting eventually here and hopefully in the next couple of weeks or a month things can get done." We hope his optimism isn't misplaced.

Travis Zajac is a proven fantasy producer who could be had for a bargain price on draft day.
Zajac saw his season limited to just 15 games last year due to a torn Achilles tendon, but proved he hadnÂ?Tt lost his touch with 14 points in 24 playoff games. With Zach Parise gone, Zajac sits first on the teamÂ?Ts depth chart at center. That means heÂ?Tll receive plenty of ice time with elite winger Ilya Kovalchuk and a golden opportunity to improve on his career-high 67 point season he put together in 2009-10.

Tom and Trish Zajac can't sit in the same room when they watch their son Travis playing for the New Jersey Devils on television.
"She likes to yap. I have to say she's the typical parent in that she knows everything. When the coach is wrong or the referee or whatever," said Tom, who along with Trish and their three other sons will be tuning in tonight when the Devils meet the Los Angeles Kings in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final. "I don't like to tell her this... well... you know most hockey parents don't know near as much about the game as they think they do, but she's almost always right. But I can't tell her that." The Devils trail the Kings 3-1 in the best-of-seven and remain on the brink after getting their first win on Wednesday.

Centre Travis Zajac isn't holding back in criticizing the Devils for their performance in the first game of the Stanley Cup championship series, which the Los Angeles Kings took 2-1 in overtime.
"We were watching a little bit," Zajac said. "We weren't reacting quick enough. We just didn't execute in a lot of areas. We didn't execute well enough in our dumps, on our routes. We didn't win enough battles to keep pucks alive and keep the forecheck going. We can execute in more areas, and we'll have more success."
