Tomas Fleischmann is healthy and has bulked up for this upcoming season. The medical treatment he is receiving seems to have quieted any concerns about the pulmonary embolism he experienced last year and Fleischmann is ready to make an impact on the Panthers. Florida assistant GM Mike Santos was gushing about Flash Friday. "What's best about him is he makes other players around him better. Not only can he score, but he can distribute the puck too. He does it at a high speed", said Santos. Look for Fleischmann to line up on the Cats' top unit alongside Stephen Weiss. He will be one of Florida's leading scorers in 2011-12.

Tomas Fleischmann has signed four-year/$18 million contract with the Florida Panthers. We get that the Panthers had to spend like crazy to reach the cap floor, but the length of these deals will probably come back to haunt them. Fleischmann can be a solid second line forward, but also comes with some health concerns. He suffered a pulmonary embolism in the middle of January and did not play after January 18th. That being said, he should be fine for the start of training camp. If Fleischmann can stay healthy for the entire 2011-12 season, he should record about 50 points.

Tomas Fleischmann will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 if the Avalanche do not sign him. Fleischmann suffered a pulmonary embolism in the middle of January and did not play after January 18th so the Avs, as well as all other teams, could be be wary of his physical well-being heading into the 2011-12 season. He will likely be on blood thinners next season to keep his medical problem in check but he should be all right for the start of training camp. Stay tuned as it is not known if the Avs and Fleischmann are even in negotiations at this time.

Tomas Fleischmann (pulmonary embolism) and the Colorado Avalanche haven't engaged in contract talks. If Colorado doesn't re-sign Fleischmann then he will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Fleischmann hasn't played since January 18th because of a pulmonary embolism issue. Fleischmann should be okay to play in 2011-12, but he will probably need to be on a blood-thinning medication. It remains to be seen if his health issues will scare away prospective suitors.
