Kuhnhackl is pointless through six games while serving as a fourth line winger.
EDGE Analysis
He scored five goals and 15 points in 48 games as a rookie in 2015-16 but has seen his ice time drop from 12:12 to 8:39. Kuhnhackl was drafted in 2010 for his offensive potential -- he scored 39 goals in 63 games for OHL Windsor in 2010-11 -- but advanced to the NHL on the strength of his forechecking ability. He sees scant power play time and little in the way of offensive opportunities.

Kuhnhackl, who was seen in a walking boot before and after games during the Pens cup run, denied inquires from reporters regarding the nature of the injury, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhnhackl's injury was clearly not severe enough given he continued to play with the injury. That fact alone should ease the concerns of fans and fantasy owners alike that the gritty winger will be ready to go for the start of the 2016-17 season.

Kuhnhackl potted his fifth goal and added an assist Saturday against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
The multipoint effort was his third in seven games, even though Pittsburgh mostly deploys him in a defensive role which includes a role on the penalty kill.

Kuhnhackl dished out an assist and found the back of the net during Tuesday's 5-4 shootout win over Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie winger had a very active game, with two shots, four hits, and a plus-2 rating to go along with the points. He had a big three-point game against Washington on March 20, but had gone three games without a point prior to Tuesday's offensive outburst. Kuhnhackl still holds a bottom-six role with the Pens, but could be one to watch in the future if his minutes increase.

Kuhnhackl picked up three points Sunday, scoring a goal and collecting two assists in the win over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhnhackl went 12 games without finding twine, but he netted the game-winner in this one just 32 seconds after Washington tied it up. The 24-year-old has been helping out in a bottom-six capacity, but is less valuable in fantasy as he logs limited minutes and isn't a regular point producer.

Kuhnhackl penned a two-year, one-way contract extension Monday with Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhnhackl's new deal comes a day after grabbing his first multi-point game of his NHL career. Considering he is logging less than 12 minutes of ice time per game, the winger's two goals and four assists are rather impressive. Unlikely to become a consistent points contributor, the 24-year-old is the type of gritty third or fourth line player that every teams needs. Unfortunately, that style of play does not help much when it comes to fantasy value, which leaves the German on the low-end of the charts.

Kuhnhackl assisted on a pair of goals in Sunday's win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The winger also finished the contest with a plus-3 rating, rounding out the most productive game of his brief NHL career. He could see some increased ice time with Evgeni Malkin sidelined for the remainder of the regular season, but even still, the 24-year-old likely won't have enough outings like Sunday's to make it worth keeping too close an eye on him.

Kuhnhackl garnered a helper in Sunday's 6-1 drubbing of New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhnhackl's assist was his first point in six games and it is unlikely he will kickoff a long scoring streak. Despite limited productivity, the winger is an important piece of the Penguins playoff push, although his value is on the ice rather than in fantasy lineups.

Kuhnhackl will be in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Jets, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fantasy owners likely don't need to concern themselves with Kuhnhackl's availability, as the 24-year-old winger has only tallied six points (three goals, three assists) in 40 games this season. The former fourth-round pick will slot into a bottom-six role Saturday against Winnipeg.

Kuhnhackl is a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against the Jets with a lower-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhnhackl was injured in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Bruins while scoring the team's lone goal, his second tally in three games. Even if the 24-year-old is healthy enough to suit up Saturday, the return of centers Nick Bonino (hand) and Evgeni Malkin (knee) will likely result in a drop in ice time for the winger compared to his 11:40 average over his last five outings.
