Pearson's dip in minutes shouldn't come as a surprise considering he is struggling to produce. The winger has just two points in his last 12 outings and finds himself dropped to a third-line role following the addition of Nick Bjugstad. If the 26-year-old can't get his offensive game going soon, he could slide even further down the depth chart once Zach Aston-Reese (undisclosed) is activated off injured reserve.

Pearson is struggling to produce offensively, as he is stuck in a four-game pointless streak.

After bursting onto the scene following his trade from Anaheim, Pearson has cooled off significantly, as he has just two points in his previous 14 contests. The winger's slump has seen him bumped from Evgeni Malkin's line, though he still finds himself playing alongside Phil Kessel. If he can start finding ways to distribute the puck to the Pens' all-star talents, he should be capable of racking up the assists.

Pearson found the back of the net versus the Stars on Wednesday and has goals in back-to-back games with the Penguins.

In just four games since joining the club, Pearson has already managed to produce more than he did in 17 games for Los Angeles this season. It would appear the change of coasts is serving the winger well -- not to mention getting slotted into a top-six role alongside Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel.

The 26-year-old winger has managed just one helper in 17 games this season and is still looking for his first goal of the 2018-19 campaign. The Ontario native did hit the 20-goal mark back in 2016-17 and could do so again playing with some of the Penguins' top stars.

While he may not start there, Pearson could see time playing on the top line with Sidney Crosby, which would certainly give him significant fantasy value as long as he remained in that role. Considering his $3.75 million cap hit, Los Angeles almost certainly had to retain some of his salary.
