The 33-year-old winger's ice time has been trending down due to the recent returns for Cole Perfetti and Gustav Nyquist, which leaves Pearson in a fourth-line role without power-play time. For the season, Pearson has three goals, one helper, 16 shots on net, 18 hits, 12 blocked shots and 10 PIM over 18 appearances.

He was moved up to the second line Thursday and saw a season-high 14:05 of ice time while replacing the healthy scratch Nikita Chibrikov in that role. He'll have a little fantasy value in deeper formats as long as he's able to stay in the lineup, though a lack of power-play time gives him a low ceiling.

Pearson grabbed both of his points in the second period. He first provided the primary assist on Logan Stanley's goal before scoring one of his own just over 10 minutes later. The 33-year-old Pearson is coming off a 27-point effort in 78 regular-season games with the Golden Knights last year, which was his best offensive output since 2021-22. He is currently on Winnipeg's fourth line and his fluctuating ice time through the first three games makes him a name to leave off fantasy radars until Monday's performance becomes a more regular occurrence.

Pearson penned a one-year, $1 million contract with Winnipeg on Tuesday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Pearson will join fellow new signing Cole Koepke as free-agent additions for the Jets. For his part, the 32-year-old Pearson garnered 12 goals and 15 helpers in 78 regular-season games for the Golden Knights last year. If Winnipeg doesn't find a replacement for Nikolaj Ehlers, Pearson could be pressed into service as a second-line winger but would likely be better served in a third-line role.
