Stamkos (undisclosed) was back on the ice for Monday's practice session.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos is already expected to sit out the Lightning's exhibition game against the Panthers on Wednesday, but the fact that he was back at practice bodes well for his availability for Monday's round-robin matchup with Washington. If he misses any time, Alex Killorn or Ondrej Palat figure to earn a promotion to the No. 1 line.

Coach Jon Cooper said Sunday that Stamkos (lower body) won't suit up in Wednesday's exhibition game, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos skated with the second group at practice again Sunday as he continues to work back from a lower-body issue. Cooper reiterated that "It's still in the window of time to get [Stamkos] back," casting some doubt whether the forward will be ready for the playoffs when they begin Aug. 1. Expect further updates on Stamkos' health throughout the week as the team enters the NHL "bubble" in Toronto on Sunday.

Stamkos was absent from Wednesday's practice session, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos was also a non-participant in Monday's intra-squad scrimmage as he continues to work his way back from a lower-body issue, though he did skate with the non-practice group. The team will look to Alex Killorn to jump up to the top line and could opt to move Stamkos to the No. 2 group if Killorn fits in well with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov.

Stamkos (lower body) will be a full participant in Saturday's practice, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos entered training camp with a lower-body injury, but it looks like he's already made a full recovery. The 30-year-old forward will be a hot commodity in playoff pools after racking up 29 goals and 66 points in 57 games during the regular season.

Stamkos (lower body) joined the team on the ice for power-play drills before leaving the ice Friday, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos taking part in special teams work is a good indication that he will be ready to play when the postseason kicks off Aug. 3 versus Washington, though fantasy players will want to continue to monitor the situation. Until the veteran center can return to full participation, his status should continue to be considered day-to-day.

Stamkos (lower body) skated on his own between training camp practices Tuesday, Bryan Burns of the Lightning's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos is expected to be ready to play when the team kicks off their round-robin against Washington on Aug. 3. This seems to be bolstered by the fact that he has begun solo skating. Once the world-class center progresses to full practice participant, fantasy players should feel confident he'll be full-go for the postseason.

According to general manager Julien BriseBois, Stamkos suffered a lower-body injury during Phase 2 training and won't be a full participant in Tampa Bay's upcoming training camp, Amalie Benjamin of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos' injury isn't related to the core muscle surgery he underwent in late February, but it's nontheless disconcerting that the oft-injured sniper is already hurting before training camp has even gotten underway. The good news is he's expected to be ready when games get underway in Toronto on Aug. 1, so those participating in playoff pools can still draft the 30-year-old forward with relative confidence. Stamkos will, of course, be an attractive option in all postseason fantasy formats after racking up 29 goals and 66 points in just 57 games this campaign.

Stamkos (abdomen) is expected to be healthy and ready to go once (if) the NHL season resumes. Coach Jon Cooper told reporters, "Lot of it with him was about rest," Joe Smith of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos missed the previous seven contests prior to the league hiatus due to his abdominal injury. Prior to getting hurt, the world-class forward was riding a 15-game point streak, during which he racked up 12 goals and 10 helpers. If the league restarts, whether it be the regular season or straight to the playoffs, Stamkos figures to offer high-end fantasy production in DFS contests and will continue to serve as an elite player in season-long formats heading into 2020-21.

Stamkos is nearly back to full health after undergoing core-muscle surgery March 2, Diana C. Nearhos of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Before the NHL suspended its season March 12, Stamkos had been viewed as a candidate to return to action at some point in the first round of the playoffs, which would have been scheduled to begin during the upcoming week. The NHL's ongoing hiatus will ultimately result in Stamkos missing just seven games, with the break providing him with enough time to fully recover from his surgery before the league allows teams to resume training for whatever remains of the season. Before requiring the procedure, Stamkos had been averaging more than a point per game for the fourth straight season, tallying 29 goals and 37 assists across his 57 appearances.

Stamkos will have core muscle surgery Monday and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
Stamkos will miss at least part of the Lightning's first-round playoff series if he, in fact, takes six weeks to return to form, but he could miss a full series or two if it hits the eight-week mark. The 30-year-old forward was red-hot before the injury with 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) across 15 games, and he's racked up 66 total points through 57 contests this year. There's no one-for-one replacement for Stamkos, but the Lightning have enough depth to absorb his loss after picking up Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow at the trade deadline. For the time being, Ondrej Palat will flank Brayden Point on the first line.
