Bernier scored his ninth goal of the season in the Devils' 4-1 victory over the Maple Leafs Friday.
Bernier, who has three goals and an assist over his last five games, now has 17 points in 37 games played this season. Bernier has a shot at breaking his previous career-high of 32 points this year. He could be worth a short-term flyer in deep leagues if he keeps up his recent scoring uptick.

Bernier scored an empty-net goal and had an assist in Saturday's win over the Panthers.
Bernier has picked it up of late, recording five goals and six points in his last six games. The third-liner, who has never surpassed 32 points in his career, is valuable in some very deep leagues. Considering Bernier averages just 11:31 of ice time and is known for being inconsistent, don't expect him to keep producing at this recent pace for much longer.

Bernier found twine twice in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Kings. He also fired six shots on goal, a season high.
An unlikely source of scoring, these were Bernier's fourth and fifth goals of the season, bringing his point total to 12 in 30 games this year.

Bernier (hip) will not play Saturday against the Flyers.
A game-time call coming in, Bernier will watch from the press box Saturday, marking his second straight absence. The 29-year-old winger has chipped in three goals and seven assists in 28 games so far this season.

Bernier (hip) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt with the Flyers, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Bernier took part in an optional skating session Saturday morning, but GM Lou Lamoriello said the team would wait until the afternoon before deciding on his status. The winger was scratched for Friday's game against the Canadiens with the injury.

Bernier (hip) will not return to action Friday against the Canadiens, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Though Bernier was viewed as a candidate to play Friday after taking part in the morning skate, the Devils will have the luxury of giving him an extra day to rest with several of the team's ill forwards returning to action. It sounds like Bernier avoided a potentially catastrophic injury after he fell victim to a nerve issue with his hip late in Wednesday's game, perhaps making him an option to play Saturday against the Flyers.

Bernier (hip) was on the ice for the Devils' morning skate and hasn't been ruled out as a lineup option Friday versus the Canadiens, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Bernier revealed Friday that he had been removed from the Devils' game Wednesday versus the Red Wings due to a nerve issue in his left hip that resulted in him temporarily losing feeling in his leg. The Devils seemed to be bracing for a lengthy absence for Bernier, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards after X-rays indicated the issue wasn't anything serious. It still seems more likely than not that the Devils will hold him out Friday as a precaution if nothing else, but fortunately, it looks like the team is treating him as day-to-day rather than out indefinitely.

Bernier had to be helped off the ice late in Wednesday's game against the Red Wings after attempting a check on defender Brendan Smith and slamming into the boards. He suffered an apparent left hip injury, according to NJ.com. "We're going to have to take him to get an X-ray. It's not good, I can tell you that," said coach and general manager, Lou Lamoriello. "Unfortunately, I think it's fairly serious."
He was down for a while before teammates helped him off. He's one tough ombre, so you know it's bad when he goes down and stays there. He was able to leave the Devils' dressing room on his own after the game, although he was limping noticeably. X-rays will reveal more.

Bernier picked up the primary assists on both the Devils' goals Tuesday in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Blackhawks.
That's the second two-point effort in four games for the grinding depth forward. While it's of some minor note that he's on his best scoring pace in years, that's just seven points in 18 games, so his fantasy value remains quite limited.
