Weber opened the scoring Tuesday against the Blues and finished it with the game-winning shorthanded goal in the third period -- his seventh and eighth tallies of the year. While Weber hadn't scored a goal in more than five weeks, he's been a regular in the assist column recently, averaging a helper per game over the prior eight contests coming in. Despite the inconsistent goal production, Weber has -- as usual -- been a reliable source of offense from the blue line.

Weber handed out a pair of assists, took five shots on goal, went plus-2 and took a minor penalty in Thursday's 5-1 domination of Arizona. The fine night snapped a four-game scoreless stretch for Weber, who nonetheless continues to be one of the finest offensive defensemen in the league. And with a plus-14 on the season currently, he's got a good chance to exceed his career-high plus-21 as long as Pekka Rinne keeps stopping nearly every shot that comes his way.

Weber doubled his season assist total Tuesday, collecting three helpers and going plus-3 in a 9-2 demolition of the Leafs. Weber scored his fifth goal of the year and added an assist on Roman Josi's power-play goal Thursday against the Blues. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough in a 4-3 loss. Weber has been well off his typical scoring pace in the early going -- particularly in the assist category, as he collected just his third helper Thursday. His fantasy owners have to be hoping that Weber's first multi-point effort in more than a month indicates the start of a hot streak.

Weber registered a power-play goal in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Blackhawks. After struggling out of the gate a season earlier, Weber has been hot from the get-go through the first five games of 2014-15, churning out four points, 15 shots and a plus-5 rating. If the 29-year-old Weber can uphold an offensive pace similar to what he's shown thus far, he'll shatter the career-best 56 points he finished with last season.

Weber supplied one of three third-period goals in the Preds' comeback win over the Senators on Thursday. As usual, Weber was one of the driving forces of the Preds' attack, finishing with four shots on goal in his 26:52 of ice time. He chipped in liberally on his own end as well, collecting three hits and two penalty minutes in the victory. Aside from the elite blueliner he opposed Thursday (Erik Karlsson), Weber might be the next-best fantasy defenseman out there.
