Aho snapped a four-game pointless skid with an assist Saturday against the Stars.

Aho enjoyed a stellar rookie season last year, just missing the 50-point plateau with 24 goals and 25 assists. This year, with just three assists through his first six games, he's currently on pace for roughly 40 points. He should continue to see plenty of opportunities to pad his totals playing on the second line with Victor Rask and Elias Lindholm where he's averaging more than 18 minutes of ice time per game (18:11). Keep him rolling.

Aho notched his first two points of the season -- a pair of assists -- during Saturday's season-opening 5-4 shootout win over Minnesota.

Aho fell just one point shy of cracking the 50-point barrier last season as a 19-year-old rookie. Now one year older and wiser, it will be interesting to see if he can take that next step forward and help the Canes get back into the playoff picture. He's certainly off to a good start, and should continue to see plenty of opportunities playing on the first line alongside Jordan Staal and Elias Lindholm. Fantasy owners should not hesitate to roll him with confidence.

Aho finished his rookie season on a strong note with 11 points in his last 15 games.

Aho came out of nowhere this season to finish second in Hurricanes scoring with 49 points. He also led the team in power-play points (17), was tied for first in game-winning goals (four) and was second in shots on goal (214). Just 19 years old, Aho is one of several bright young stars the Hurricanes are hoping can lead them out of the desert after missing the playoffs for eight consecutive seasons. Those of you in keeper formats should be taking a long, hard look at this kid.

Aho's point streak now stands at six games and eight points (three goals, five assists) after he scored twice in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Devils.

Aho has 46 points, including 23 goals, in 73 games. It's a bad year to get recognition as part of an elite fleet of rookies. But Aho is showing himself to be every bit a top-line forward.

Center Elias Lindholm pilfered the puck and then stormed down the ice to set up Aho for his 21st goal of the season; it was a terrific backhand pass and an even prettier juke by the savvy rookie to go five-hole on netminder Reto Berra. While Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner are understandably garnering plenty of attention for the work they've done to rebuild the Maple Leafs, fantasy owners should not lose track of Aho, as he's accumulated 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) in 71 games as a rookie. He'll be a long-shot to earn the Calder Trophy but that doesn't take away from the impressive campaign he's having on a Hurricanes team that has struggled to stay above .500 this season.

The 19-year-old Finn took control of this game in the third period, with his two tallies turning a 3-2 deficit into the final score. Aho also racked up six shots on net while recording his first multi-point effort since Jan. 31 and hitting 20 goals on the year. Despite some inconsistency, it's been a terrific rookie campaign for the 2015 second-round pick; great things are clearly in his future.

The 19-year-old has been a bit quiet in the month of February after posting his first career hat trick on Jan. 31 against the Flyers. He has just three goals and an assist in 10 games, perhaps hitting the rookie wall a bit. His previous high for games played in a season came last year with Oulu Karpat of the Finnish Elite League, totaling 45 games. Aho might be a bit winded but he remains a solid talent worth a roster spot in all fantasy pools.

Aho posted an assist with a plus-1 rating, six shots on goal and a blocked shot in Friday's 3-0 win against the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Aho's scoring has slowed to a trickle lately and he might be hitting the rookie wall. The NHL is a grind, especially for a guy whose professional high was just 45 games for Oulu Karpat of the Finnish Elite League. Still, he has 17 goals and 33 points and he should flirt with 45 points by the end of the season. He has emerged as a valuable contributor in fantasy pools of 12 or more teams and he is a sweet keeper option since he is just scratching the surface.

Aho posted the game-winning power-play goal in Friday's 2-1 victory against the Oilers.

The teenager has four goals, including two game-winning tallies, over the past two outings. He has posted eight goals and 10 points over the past 11 outings. Aho won't give you many penalty minutes, but his scoring production and work on the power play makes up for it. He has emerged as a useful fantasy option in all pools, and he is a must-have in dynasty formats.

Aho collected his first NHL hat trick -- with the third one coming on the power play -- and added a man-advantage assist in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Philadelphia.

This was Aho's game through and through, as he scored Carolina's first two goals and kept on pushing until his assist on Justin Faulk's power-play tally created a 5-0 lead. In addition to being his first hat trick, this was the 19-year-old's first four-point effort, so he'll surely remember this outing for a long time. The big night also pushed Aho's point total to 30; if he can continue doing such steady work, the 50 mark should be attainable.
