As expected, Couturier (upper body) will not play Saturday against the Rangers, NHL.com's Adam Kimelman reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier suffered the injury in Wednesday's tilt against the Bruins, and was ultimately forced to exit the game as a result. The ailment isn't considered to be overly serious, but it will cost the 22-year-old forward at least one game. Couturier's next opportunity to return to the Flyers' lineup will come on Tuesday against the Sabres. R.J. Umberger is expected to see more time on Philadelphia's second power-play unit in Couturier's absence.

Couturier (upper body) is likely to miss Saturday's game against the Rangers, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier was forced out of Wednesday's game with an upper-body ailment, and though it seems to be just a minor issue, it sounds as though he'll miss at least one game as a result. If he is held out Saturday, his next chance to return to the lineup will come Tuesday against the Sabres.

Courturier is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Couturier exited Wednesday's game against the Bruins with an undisclosed injury, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier was hit hard and high by the Bruins' Zac Rinaldo at the end of the first period, and looked woozy when he was finally able to get back on his feet. Rinaldo was given a game misconduct for charging on the play, and will likely face further discipline based on his history of questionable hits. Couturier hasn't officially been ruled out of the contest, but his return seems highly unlikely at this juncture. The Flyers should provide an update on Couturier's status in the near future.

Couturier picked up his first goal of the season on his only shot of the game Tuesday in a loss to the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately, he was the only Flyer to beat Antti Niemi, but the rest of the team's inability to score doesn't take anything away from Couturier's three-game point streak. Couturier continues to see a lot of minutes, including power-play time, but his game still needs to come together more consistently. He was on the ice for both Dallas goals Tuesday, and Couturier has only six shots in five games so far.

Couturier will be ready to play in the Flyers' opener Thursday, reports Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
EDGE Analysis
The defensive-minded center said he was "pretty close" to 100 percent. He was good for 37 points last season, and owners should expect similar production as he centers the second line.

Head coach Dave Hakstol told reporters Tuesday that Couturier's undisclosed injury isn't serious, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hakstol also told reporters that he expects Couturier to be ready for Philadelphia's Oct. 8 regular season opener. Couturier, who registered 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists) in 82 games with the Flyers last season, is expected to return to a top-six role with the team in 2015-16.

Couturier will miss Monday's preseason contest against the Rangers with an unspecified injury, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Couturier was slashed on the back of his knee last Tuesday, but he was able to practice with the team until Friday so the exact nature of the injury is unclear at this point. A further update should become available, but Sam Gagner replaced Couturier as the second line center in the team's morning skate and figures to continue filling in for the time being.

Couturier tallied the Flyers' lone goal in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes. He also tied his season high Thursday with four shots on goal.
Couturier has been fantastic since the start of April, recording at least a goal or assist in each of his five games so far this month. Given his ongoing hot streak, Couturier could make for a worthy addition to daily lineups in the Flyers' season finale Saturday against the Senators.
