Gomez appears to be the odd man out of the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Kings, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gomez will take a seat with the Blues set to welcome back offensive stalwart Vladimir Tarasenko (undisclosed). Having recorded one goal, two assists and a plus-2 rating through seven games, Gomez is proving to be an adequate injury fill-in for the 8-2-1 Blues. But "scratch" is a nasty word in the fantasy realm, so consider alternatives until he can find his way back into the lineup.

Gomez put the puck past Tampa Bay's Ben Bishop on Tuesday night, leading the Blues to a 2-0 win.
EDGE Analysis
As a result of various injuries to the Blues' forwards, Gomez has seen an uptick in playing time recently. The 35-year-old spent just over 12 minutes on the ice Tuesday, which counts as bottom-six minutes but seems like a lot compared to the 7:14 he picked up in his Blues debut Oct. 17. While his best years are far away in the rearview mirror, Gomez does have the ability to pick up points in a hurry as he's had four campaigns of 70 points or more between the Devils and Rangers in his career.

Gomez recorded an assist and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's win over the jets.
EDGE Analysis
Gomez received 9:39 TOI in what was his second game of the season. The Alaskan native earned a roster spot as a tryout in training camp and figures to keep geting playing time with talented rookie center Robby Fabbri on injured reserve with a concussion. Gomez can still get the job done, as evidenced by 34 points in 58 games with the Devils last season.

Gomez or Scottie Upshall may play in Tuesday's game for the Blues in place of the injured Robby Fabbri, Andrew Allsman of kmov.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A Gomez start would be his first in a St. Louis uniform. The 35-year-old center may have a chance to prove that the seasoned player's NHL career is not ready to end just yet.

Gomez signed a one-year contract with the Blues on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old Gomez scored seven goals and tallied 27 assists in 58 games with the Devils last season. After signing at PTO at the beginning of camp, the veteran center earned his way to a two-way contract.

Gomez accepted a professional tryout offer with the Blues on Thursday, Andy Strickland of FOX Sports Midwest reports.
EDGE Analysis
After failing to garner a contract in free agency for the second straight offseason, Gomez will again head to training camp on a PTO, as he did last season in New Jersey. Though he wasn't able to crack the Devils' Opening Night roster, he continued to work out with the team after the tryout period ended and was eventually signed to the team when injuries opened up an opportunity in late November. Gomez would end the season as one of the more productive contributors on the offensively challenged Devils, finishing third on the team with 34 points. The Blues boast a far deeper roster of forward talent, but with the news surfacing after Gomez's signing that Patrik Berglund would miss at least four months following shoulder surgery, an opening on the third line could exist for the 35-year-old.

The Devils will not attempt to re-sign Gomez in the offseason, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports. The Devils are likely trying to get younger. Unfortunately, the 35-year-old Gomez simply doesn't fit into those plans. However, someone will likely take a chance on the veteran forward, as he has been able to remain relatively productive even as he has gotten up there in age. He managed to tally 34 points in 58 games with the Devils in 2014-15, and can still serve as a valuable offensive contributor when healthy.

Gomez picked up two assists -- one on the power play -- Thursday in a loss to Tampa Bay. After he had a great game Tuesday against the Rangers, but was rewarded with just one point and a minus-2 rating, it had to feel good for Gomez to have a better statistical game despite not necessarily playing quite as well. He's now collected 34 points in 57 games since returning to New Jersey during the season.

Gomez recorded 15 PIM in Friday's win over the Canadiens. A rough night for Gomez, who was ejected after replying to an Alexei Emelin hit with a brutal elbow. With 31 points in 54 games, the 35-year-old remains a decent point producer who can pile up assists at a level that warrants a look in some deeper leagues.

Gomez provided the team's lone goal in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Kings. Gomez has managed just seven goals, but he's quietly recorded 30 points in 49 games thanks to 23 assists. While the 35-year-old is clearly no longer in his prime years, he's been able to work his way on to the score sheet regularly enough to merit some consideration in deeper leagues.
