Despite his impressive play, he doesn't appear to be challenging Steve Mason for the starting gig quite yet.

Zepp will earn his second consecutive start after he was in goal during Monday's 7-3 win over the Flyers. As that score would indicate, Zepp benefited from some overwhelming offensive support, so it's not as though he keyed the team to victory in the outing. Nonetheless, with Ray Emery scuffling mightily this season, Zepp could end up assuming No. 1 goalie duties until Steve Mason (lower body) returns from injury. With a strong outing against the Capitals, Zepp will certainly state a case for more work.

Zepp stopped 21 of 24 shots in Monday's 7-3 win over the Lightning. Zepp wasn't spectacular, but he was solid enough against the league's top offense, and he didn't allow the second goal until the game was already well in hand with a 7-1 lead. He's now won both of his career starts and figures to compete with Ray Emery for starts while starter Steve Mason deals with an injury.
