Rene Bourque played in his 500th game Wednesday night. He logged 15:24 of ice time and picked up one shot in Montreal's 3-2 loss to Calgary. Bourque has one goal and one assist in three games this season.

Rene Bourque scored the only Montreal goal in a 6-1 loss at the hands of the Senators in Game Three of their Eastern Conference playoff series on Sunday. The power play marker was the second tally of the postseason for Bourque, who added four shots on goal and 10 penalty minutes in the process. Brian Gionta and Tomas Plekanec picked up the assists on the lone Montreal goal in a brutal loss.

"Everyone's been doing excellent work (and Bourque) is going to have to be patient and work on getting back into game shape." Bourque has been out of action since Feb. 21.

Unfortunately concussion recoveries don't conform to timetables so sometimes things like this do happen. He hasn't played in a month and there's no telling when he might play again.

Rene Bourque isn't expected to return from a concussion Thursday against the New York Islanders, but he will travel with the team to Long Island. "I can't tell you exactly if he'll be there on the weekend," coach Michel Therrien said. "The medical team will certainly re-evaluate him on Friday and we'll make a decision." Bourque said he continues to improve every day, but he needs to work on his conditioning.
