As expected, Budaj will make his twelfth straight start Tuesday and will look to turn it around after some bad showings recently. If his offense can hold up their end, he'll have a good chance at a W against a horrific Avalanche offense.

His .916 save percentage is appealing, but Budaj is turning in inconsistent performances, so it's hard to know what you're going to get each night. The stability is starting to wear off, but Budaj and his 26 wins are still a valuable fantasy asset.

Budaj led the Kings onto the ice for pregame warmups Sunday and thus will start against the Ducks, Lisa Dillman of NHL.com reports.

Budaj has been taking it on the chin lately, giving up 19 goals across his last five appearances -- a span in which he's gone 1-5 with a hideous .843 save percentage. He'll again try to lock in his 27th win of the year against an Anaheim squad that's lost five of its last seven games and was held to a single goal in each of the last two contests.

Budaj gave up three goals on 25 shots in Saturday's loss to the Panthers.

Budaj was outplayed by Roberto Luongo, who faced far more shots. The Los Angeles Kings netminder drops to 26-18-3 on the season with a .915 save percentage. Budaj was on a roll recently, but things appear to be trending downwards, as this marks the fifth straight game he's given up at least three goals. The losses are piling up, but Budaj has been outstanding at times this season, so there's no reason to doubt a bounce back.

Despite having a .916 save percentage, Budaj has a stellar 2.15 GAA. He owes that in part to the fact the Kings have allowed a league-low 25.7 shots on net per game. However, in his last four games he's allowed at least three goals. On the other hand, in his four starts before that he had three shutouts.

Budaj was first off the ice at morning skate, Josen Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports. This means that he's likely to be the starting home goalie against the Panthers on Saturday night.

The Kings held an optional skate with no line rushes, making it rather difficult to get an early goalie confirmation from the Kings. However, with backup Jeff Zatkoff making only two starts so far in this calendar year, it's assumed that Budaj will continue hogging the net while Jonathan Quick (groin) remains unavailable. Assuming he starts, Budaj will be facing a red-hot Florida team that has reeled off three straight wins while posting a 6-2-2 record over the past 10 contests.

Budaj saved just 17 of 21 shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to Arizona.

EDGE Analysis

Budaj was outplayed by Coyotes counterpart Mike Smith, who made 41 saves to hold off Los Angeles' comeback bid. The Czech veteran has hit the skids with 16 goals allowed in his past four starts. He has done much better than expected filling in for the injured Jonathan Quick (groin), but might be starting to run out of gas after playing just 55 NHL games over the previous five seasons combined.

Budaj will be in the crease for Thursday's matchup with Arizona, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.

The Czech hasn't looked great lately, allowing four or more goals twice in his last three games. Considering the Coyotes have scored four goals or more in three of their last four games, this seems like a bad matchup for Budaj.

There have been a number of peaks and valleys this season, and the Los Angeles offense led the way Thursday, but Budaj still deserves high praise for his play and his fantasy contributions. Additionally, Budaj is still often underpriced in daily contests.
