Pavel Datsyuk has two goals and five points in his last three games.
Datsyuk seems to have turned a corner after starting the season with 10 points in 16 games. He's also been plus-four in his last two contests, which has brought his plus/minus rating out of the negatives. He should average about a point-per-game this season.

Pavel Datsyuk scored twice in Detroit's 4-1 win over Los Angeles.
Datsyuk has to be feeling a little better about his season-to-date after recently describing his performance as "awful." Niklas Kronwall and Justin Abdelkader scored Detroit's other two goals. Tomas Holmstrom had two assists, giving him seven points in 16 games this season.

Pavel Datsyuk would describe his start to the 2011-12 season as "awful."
"I need to do more," Datsyuk said. "I need to be more productive. Shoot more, be more dangerous. Go to the net; go to the net and shoot." Datsyuk's start hasn't be disastrous, but we agree that he can do much better. We're use to seeing Datsyuk produce in the point-per-game range, but so far he has just two goals and 10 points in 16 contests.

Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg are a combined minus-11 this season.
The duo are showing fantasy fans that you cannot rely on anyone for a good plus/minus because it is such a hard category to figure out. The pair of Red Wings will likely improve on it soon as Detroit is in the midst of a six game winless streak, but you never know.

All-stars Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg will no longer be playing on the same line for the Detroit Red Wings.
"They're not going to be together," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock told the Detroit News. "I just played Pav and Z together nine straight games. Through that time, we haven't done enough, so I'm not playing them together. We need more people going. Maybe they can help them get going. They have to help themselves as well. We have to change some things up and see if we can't do a better job." The Red Wings have scored five goals their past five games - all losses. Datsyuk has eight points (two goals) in 10 games, while Zetterberg has four points (two goals), also in 10 games. Tonight against the Flames, Datsyuk is expected to skate with Danny Cleary and Jiri Hudler, judging from Wednesday's combinations at practice. Zetterberg was paired with Todd Bertuzzi and Johan Franzen.

Pavel Datsyuk has a team-leading eight points in 10 games this season.
Detroit has gotten off to a disappointing 5-4-1 start and the team has only scored 23 goals. Datsyuk has managed to rise above his team's collective cold streak in terms of offensive production, but their woes have still hurt his fantasy value. Datsyuk is minus-six over Detroit's last five games and he's a team-worst minus-five overall. Datsyuk is a career plus-182 player and he finished second on Detroit in that category last season despite only playing in 56 games. Look for his plus/minus rating, in relation to the rest of the team, to improve as the season goes on.

Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Daniel Cleary stayed together as a line on Friday.
There was talk that coach Mike Babcock would split Datsyuk and Zetterberg up as the Red Wings were on a two game losing streak but that was not the case against the Sharks. Datsyuk picked up a couple of assists in the 4-2 loss but was also on the ice for all four San Jose goals. "We have maybe a little bit better game," said Datsyuk. "But we do wrong things, too." At least their offensive game seems to be coming back. Look for Babcock to keep them together at least one more game.

Pavel Datsyuk had two assists in Detroit's 4-2 loss to San Jose on Friday.
Both Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom were effective on this night as they had two assists each. Henrik Zetterberg opened the scoring, and later Tomas Holmstrom scored. Despite the top lines doing their thing, Detroit still fell.

The Red Wings' top line of Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Daniel Cleary is getting plenty of chances but has yet to find a scoring rhythm.
Collectively the unit took 10 shots on goal against the Caps Saturday night but could not score at even strength. For the season the trio has only eight points. Don't give up on any of these players as this will likely change in the very near future.

Pavel Datsyuk scored a goal and added an assist in the Redwings 3-0 win over Colorado.
Datsyuk is an elite player when healthy, and should once again be a lock for 80 points. He is expected to be paired with Henrik Zetterberg throughout the season, so both players are set to have great seasons.
