Gaustad was held off the scoresheet for the 13th time in the past 14 games Sunday against the Ducks. However, he delivered four hits for the fourth straight game, and added two blocked shots, and won 57% of his faceoffs (12-for-21). As the Preds' fourth-line center, scoring is not one of Gaustad's primary responsibilities. However, he does provide fantasy value in those leagues that reward more than goals and assists. He currently ranks second on the team in hits (124), sixth in blocked shots (51) and he's one of the top faceoff men in the league (.570 success rate). Give him a look if your league counts these secondary stat categories.

Gaustad extended his pointless streak to 12 games in Sunday's 4-0 win over Pittsburgh; however, he finished the game with a season-high six hits and won nine of 16 faceoffs. Gaustad is not much of a scorer, but continues to deliver the bulk of his real-life value off-scoresheet. He is the Preds' leading faceoff man, and is second on the team in hits with 80. With just nine points in 41 games, he won't win you any fantasy scoring titles, but if your league counts these aforementioned secondary stat categories, you may find use for him on your roster.

Gaustad picked up an assist in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Kings. The center now has assists in each of his last three games, but it should probably be viewed as an aberration from the norm. As a third- or fourth-liner, Gaustad is tasked primarily with winning faceoffs and delivering checks. Any offense he provides is just icing on the cake, and certainly not expected.

Gaustad (lower body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Saturday's game against the Flyers. He ended up skating 15:17 in a 4-1 victory. Gaustad didn't attempt any shots in his return from the six-game absence, but did win 12 of his 19 faceoffs. That's essentially the only area the fourth-line center offers much value, as he's not an especially willing hitter.

Gaustad (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday. Gaustad has already missed three games with the lower-body injury and hasn't seemed to demonstrate many signs of progress. Viktor Stalberg was recalled from AHL Milwaukee to function as an extra forward for the Predators.

Gaustad (lower body) will likely remain out for Saturday's game against the Sharks, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports. Gaustad wasn't present for the team's morning skate, so it's probably safe to assume he'll miss his second straight contest. Derek Roy once again takes his spot on the Preds' fourth line.

Gaustad (lower body) isn't expected to play Thursday against the Coyotes. Gaustad didn't practice Wednesday after aggravating a lower-body injury Tuesday night, likely making him unavailable for the game. Fortunately, it appears the previously injured Derek Roy (upper body) is back to full health, so he could be called upon to center the fourth line for the Predators.

Gaustad left Tuesday's win over the Avalanche with a lower-body injury and didn't return, the Associated Press reports. Gaustad returned to action Tuesday following a two-game absence due to a lower-body ailment, but it didn't take him long to aggravate the injury. He saw just 48 seconds of action before the Predators decided to keep him in the locker room for the rest of the night. It appears the team is viewing him as day-to-day for the time being.

Gaustad (lower body) is slated to return Tuesday versus the Avalanche, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports. Gaustad had missed the previous two games due to injury, but looks to be good to go after he participated fully during the Preds' morning skate. He will center a fourth line that includes Eric Nystrom and Gabriel Bourque.

Gaustad will miss Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. The Predators are labeling Gaustad day-to-day with the injury. It's not known how the injury was acquired or how the fourth line will shape up in his absence.
