Patrick Kane potted a goal and also registered two assists in Chicago's 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets Thursday night.
Kane is off to a very good start and now has five points in three games this season. This might be the season Kane breaks out and becomes a 90-point scorer if he remains healthy.

Patrick Kane played well at center on Friday in 21:52 minutes of action.
Kane is normally a right winger, but the Blackhawks experimented with him at center in training camp and he found himself between Andrew Brunette and Marian Hossa on Friday. He won six-of-nine faceoffs. "Pat was great," Hossa said. "He was flying through the middle, and we created a couple chances. It's too bad we didn't score." Kane did pick up an assist on Nick Leddy's goal. Look for Kane to get 85-90 points this season if he remains healthy.

Patrick Kane will play in his first regular season game as a center on Friday.
The shift was something the Blackhawks talked about during the preseason and they'll carry the experiment into the season opener. Kane will skate alongside Andrew Brunette and Marian Hossa. "It's a lot different than the last couple (of seasons) where I've been pretty much familiar with my position," Kane said. "I'm still kind of learning this one and feeling it out a bit. I think we have a good mindset going into it, our whole line, as to how we play in our own end. Whn we get the puck it's just kind of play hockey and not worry about positions. Hopefully, it's one those things where I'm lining up at center but playing my own game."

Patrick Kane does not believe that he will be under any disadvantage to start the season following wrist surgery.
Although the wrist is still a little stiff, Kane has looked and felt good in games so far. In fact, he has improved his abilities in the face-off circle, a surprising turn of events given how much a center uses his wrist while taking draws. Although the Hawks are experimenting with Kane as a second-line center, we expect him to line up alongside Jonathan Toews on right wing once the season starts. This might be the season Kane breaks out and becomes a 90-point scorer. He is a legitimate first or second round selection.

Patrick Kane (wrist) is expected to play in Wednesday's preseason game.
Kane was kept out of four exhibition games after undergoing wrist surgery on June 19th. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has raised the possibility of using Kane as a center, so he could get some ice time in that role on Wednesday.

Patrick Kane might start the season as a center, according to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville.
"We might try Kane at center," Quenneville said. "He's been playing center throughout scrimmages and practices now. We'll see." Quenneville isn't worried about Kane's ability to handle the defensive responsibilities that come with the position. We'll keep you posted.

Patrick Kane wants to take his game to the next level this season.
"It's kind of crazy to think I'm still 22 and going into my fifth season," Kane said. "Time has been flying by. I think it's about that time I really take the next step to the elite level. It seems like everyone's kind of been saying that to me this summer. 'All right, you've done well your first four years, now let's really take that step to the next level and become one of the best players in the league.'" Kane has maintained a near point-per-game pace over his first four seasons and has established himself as a superb player, but not as an Art Ross Trophy contender. Although we wouldn't consider him an early favorite for the award, we do this Kane could set a new career-high by surpassing the 90-point milestone this season.

Patrick Kane participated in a Hawks scrimmage for first time Sunday at Johnny's IceHouse West.
Kane potted two goals and also registered an assist in his first game-like action. "It felt good to be out there. You're still pretty cautious out there. You don't want to put yourself in any situations where you're going to get hit or something could go wrong. I was still pretty cautious out there, but it's competitive hockey, so you're going to be competitive out there and try to do some good things. Overall, I thought [Sunday] was a pretty good day on the ice," said Kane.

The Chicago Blackhawks have not cleared Patrick Kane (wrist surgery) for contact.
The Blackhawks stated that if they were in the middle of the season Kane would be able to play but with training camp just getting started, there is no reason to rush Kane back. He will participate in the two-a-day sessions but without contact at this time. Kane is still wearing a splint on his wrist but it is more precautionary at this time. "I've been shooting and stick-handling," Kane said. "It's still little stiff but other than that the bone and everything is pretty much healed. I'm pretty much ready (to play) right now. (Doctors) said it if was the middle of the season right now and I wanted to play, I could play." Look for a big season from the right winger as he could approach the 90 point mark if he can stay healthy.

Patrick Kane (wrist) will start practicing, but he'll be "cautionary about contact."
Kane was informed by his doctors that he could play at this point if it was in the middle of the season. However, given that training camp is just getting started, it makes sense that the Blackhawks will err on the side of caution. We'll keep you posted.
