Patrick Kane has been playing without a mouth guard this season. It started when Kane decided to spend the lockout in the Swiss League. "They didn't have one for me when I got to Switzerland," said Kane. "I could have gone to the dentist and got one, but I forgot all about it. When I came back here, (the Hawks) had some for me to try, but it just kind of felt weird in my mouth." Kane said the mouth guard could be a distraction at times, although he hasn't ruled out the possibility of using one in the future. Meanwhile, he has eight goals and 18 points in 11 games.

Star forward Patrick Kane scored two goals and added an assist in the Chicago Blackhawks' 6-2 rout of the Coyotes in Phoenix Thursday night. Kane's goals, his seventh and eighth of the season, were both produced on power plays in the first period. Kane also assisted on a Dave Bolland goal in the first period. It was Bolland's fourth goal of the season. The Hawks led 4-0 after the first period, with Viktor Stalberg opening the scoring with his third goal of the season. Jonathan Toews (fifth) and Bryan Bickell (second) scored for Chicago in the second period. Stalberg assisted on Bickell's goal to give him two points on the night. Patrick Sharp also had a nice night for the winners with three assists, giving him nine on the season.

Kane scored the game winning goal in the second period and added an empty netter. He has goals in three straight contests, and 15 points in 10 games this season. Kane should continue to thrive so long as Chicago keeps it going. Jonathan Toews also had a strong game, with two assits and five shots on goal.

Patrick Kane's big night on Saturday included a goal, an assist on the game-tying goal with three seconds left in regulation and the shootout winner in Chicago's 3-2 win over Calgary Saturday night. Kane is tied for sixth in league scoring with four goals, nine assists and 13 points.

Patrick Kane registered two assists in Chicago's 3-2 overtime victory on Thursday. Kane has two goals and seven points in just four games. His fast start has been a big part of Chicago's 4-0-0 run this season. Look for him to manage a point-per-game pace this season.

Patrick Kane doesn't want to get too excited over the Chicago Blackhawks' 3-0-0 start. "It's a good start but you can't think about it too much," Kane said. "One of the things about this season is you're playing so many games in a short amount of time so it's almost like you win one, 'all right, think about the next one.'
