Kaleta, who suffered an injury during the preseason, still doesn't have a return date, reports Kevin Oklobzija from the Democrat and Chronicle.
EDGE Analysis
Kaleta has yet to play a game with AHL Rochester this season after saying he'd be out "at least a month" in early October. He's currently on an AHL-only deal, and barring a superb performance, will likely stay in the minors for the rest of the season.

Kaleta (lower body) was released from his PTO with the Sabres on Friday, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kaleta was never expected to occupy a spot on the Sabres' Opening Night roster, and his recent injury woes certainly haven't helped his cause. He'll head to AHL Rochester to begin the season, where he registered four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games in 2014-15.

Kaleta played in Thursday's preseason contest, but later exited with a lower-body injury and will not return, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kaleta was dealing with a lower-body injury last week, and that is the same designation of the injury that forced him out of Thursday's contest as well. There's no indication of whether it was an aggravation of the previous issue or not, but the Sabres will likely take precautions to ensure players don't suffer a long-term injury. The 29-year-old doesn't stand much of a chance at making the Opening Night roster, but his trouble with injuries certainly doesn't help.

Kaleta is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old winger remains a long shot to secure a spot on the Sabres' Opening Night roster, so the lower-body injury likely won't have much effect on his prospects of doing so. The team should provide an update on his status in the coming days.

Kaleta signed an AHL contract with AHL Rochester on Saturday, and will attend the Sabres' upcoming training camp on a PTO.
EDGE Analysis
Kaleta is likely a long shot to secure a spot on the Sabres' opening day roster, and wouldn't provide much in terms of fantasy value even if he were able to do so. He registered three assists and 36 PIM in 42 games with Buffalo last season.

Kaleta (knee) will suit up Thursday against Arizona, reports the Olean Times Herald. Kaleta hasn't played since Feb. 10 after undergoing minor surgery to remove bone chips. The physical winger should be raring to go and will certainly be looking to provide some energy for his team and shake off some rust, so expect some hits. Kaleta has just 32 penalty minutes in 33 games this season after promising to dial back on fights and unnecessary penalties, which is good for the team but hurts his fantasy value. He's expected to play on the fourth line.

Kaleta (knee) skated with the team Wednesday morning and remains hopeful to play Thursday against the Coyotes. Kaleta, who has been out since Feb. 15 with the knee issue, will be assessed by the Sabres' medical staff later Wednesday. If Kaleta receives a positive report, look for coach Ted Nolan to plug the winger back in on the Sabres' fourth line.

Kaleta (knee) could be ready to play Thursday against the Coyotes. Kaleta took part in Tuesday's optional practice with a few of the Sabres' other injured skaters. The winger, who has been sidelined since Feb. 15 after having bone chips removed from his knee, could take part in a full practice with the team Wednesday, which would improve his prospects of suiting up for Thursday's contest.

Kaleta was a full participant at Friday's morning skate. Kaleta, who had surgery to remove a bone chip last month, could return Friday night against the Devils. Head coach Ted Nolan indicated that he'd like to give Kaleta a little more rest before he plays him, so that makes Kaleta's status questionable rather than probable. The hard-nosed winger has three assists and 32 PIM in 33 games this season, so his impending return won't prove bountiful enough for fantasy owners looking for an extra edge in peripheral categories.

Kaleta (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. It was Kaleta's first full practice since he underwent a minor procedure last month to address a bone chip. While Kaleta's return to practice suggests he's nearly fully recovered from the injury, coach Ted Nolan noted that the winger is likely to miss the next three games in order to build up more mobility and strength in his knee. Expect Kaleta to be activated from injured reserve at some point next week.
