Patrick Kaleta isn't eligible to play while he's appealing his 10-game suspension. Kaleta has already served four games and will be allowed to return on Nov. 2 unless his suspension is reduced. He's a repeat offender and being punished for hitting Columbus' Jack Johnson in the head. "I've been changing my game over the past little while. Everyone who's watched the Sabres and has paid close attention has seen it," Kaleta said. "Like I said, I just need to keep continuing to get better and do what's best for the team and try to be a positive influence on what's going on here."

Buffalo Sabres pest Patrick Kaleta will be suspended until he faces a Tuesday disciplinary hearing, in which he might be suspended some more. His hit on Jack Johnson could land him an extensive unpaid vacation, but we won't know until next week. Most fantasy owners shouldn't be too broken up about it, especially since Kaleta's not on a team that will help him pick up cheap points.

Patrick Kaleta has an in-person hearing scheduled for his high hit on Jack Johnson during Thursday's game. The fact that it's an in-person hearing means that Kaleta's suspension might exceed five games. Kaleta is a repeat offender, but Johnson was able to remain in the game. Both of those points might be significant factors when determining the length of his suspension, should he end up getting punished at all. Kaleta didn't receive a penalty for his actions, but Jared Boll stood up for his teammate and both players ended up getting five minutes for fighting as a result.

Patrick Kaleta and Ryan Miller patched up any lingering differences Tuesday. "He's like my brother, one of my best friends on the team," Kaleta said after Tuesday's morning skate. "Some things were misunderstood there but we're family. Our season hasn't gone the way we wanted it to go and everyone knows that. Our job is to come together as a team and go out there and battle." Miller said that Kaleta "needs to just grow up" after he complained about being a healthy scratch. However, the emotional and outspoken goaltender sees the error of his ways and he said, "We're going to try to move on from that." Ironically, Kaleta was back in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against Montreal while Miller watched the bench as Jhonas Enroth's backup.

Patrick Kaleta will be serving the second of a five-game suspension Sunday. The Sabres super pest was suspended for his hit on Brad Richards a week ago. Although he had 116 penalty minutes in 2011-12, Kaleta doesn't do enough offensively to be fantasy relevant.

Patrick Kaleta has been suspended for five games for boarding New York Rangers forward Brad Richards. The incident occurred at the 3:28 mark of the third period Sunday and Kaleta received a major penalty and a game misconduct. He got a harsher suspension because he is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
