Eaves (concussion) will not return to action Friday against the Avalanche, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. Eaves skated with the team Wednesday and was viewed as a possible option for the Stars' next game, but that changed when he failed to participate in Thursday's practice. It's not clear if a setback with his head injury contributed to his absence, but at the very least, it looks like his activation from IR will have to wait a few more days.

Eaves (concussion) has resumed skating and could be available for Friday's game against the Avalanche, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. The Stars were bracing for an indefinite absence after Eaves, who has a lengthy history of concussions, suffered a head injury just under two weeks ago, but it appears he's progressed quickly through the league protocol. If he's able to get in a full practice Thursday, Eaves could be formally activated from IR following Friday's morning skate.

Coach Lindy Ruff said Eaves didn't sustain any fractures to his skull after taking a wrist shot to the head in Friday's win over the Panthers, but the forward remains under the concussion protocol, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.Eaves, who has dealt with multiple concussions over the course of his career, will face an indefinite return timetable until he's cleared to resume practicing. The Stars have already placed Eaves on injured reserve, calling up Brett Ritchie from AHL Texas to occupy his spot on the 23-man roster.

Eaves (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. The move to injured reserve ensures that Eaves will miss at least three games with the head injury. It would probably be wise to bet on a lengthier absence for the winger, who has an extensive concussion history. Like Eaves, Tyler Seguin (lower body) and Ales Hemsky (lower body) were also forced to exit Friday's win over the Panthers with injuries and have already been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Avalanche, leaving the team extremely depleted at forward. As a result, the Stars acted quickly to shuttle Eaves to IR, opening up a roster spot for AHL call-up Brett Ritchie.

Eaves was struck in the right side of the head by a wrist shot from defenseman John Klingberg in Friday's win over Florida. He was helped off the ice and did not return."Eaves is on the way to the hospital to get x-rays," Ruff said. "He took a pretty good shot there to the head. He has had a previous injury there, so we're fairly concerned with him." Eaves was in considerable pain and had to be helped off the ice. A further update on his status should be provided Saturday.

Eaves had an assist, a plus-2 rating, and three shots in Wednesday's win over Boston.Eaves has been fantastic since returning from injury. In the eight games since his return he has three power play goals, two assists, an even plus/minus rating, and is averaging 2.88 shots per game. Eaves isn't a world-beater, but he's producing beyond expectations at the moment. Getting top unit power play minutes is a big part of that. As long as he stays on the top unit, he will have value. If you're rostering him, keep an eye on the power play units. His value falls sharply as soon as he's taken off that unit.

Eaves scored a power play goal and had a pair of shots in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Avalanche. Eaves has been on fire since returning from injury. He's not a player you're looking for bit points from, especially after he scored just four goals and nine assists through 64 games over the last two seasons, but he's producing for owners. In the four games since his return he has three goals, an assist, is averaging three shots per game, is getting solid power play time with the top unit, and is logging more ice time than Jason Spezza.

Eaves had an assist and two shots in Thursday's win over the Senators. Eaves has collected a point in both of the games since he returned from injury. The former 20-goal scorer and first round pick isn't as reliable as he was in his first couple of seasons, but if you're in a deep league it may be worth keeping an eye on him to see if he can keep it up.

Eaves celebrated his return to the ice Tuesday by potting a power-play goal on six shots over 18 minutes of ice time in a 3-2 loss to the Canadiens. Eaves had just eight points in 19 games before going down with his latest injury in early December, but he returned to a top-line role alongside stars Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, and that duo assisted on his goal. It'll be a massive boost to Eaves' fantasy value if he can stick with them.

Eaves (lower body) has been activated from injured reserve and will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Canadiens. Eaves missed the Stars' previous 21 games with an ankle injury. It sounded like he was ready to play as early as last week, but since the All-Star break was set to take place, the Stars elected to give the winger some further time to rest. Based on how line rushes were conducted at morning skate, it appears Eaves will skate on the top trio with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin to start Tuesday's game.
