Kronwall (lower body) will miss the next four games on a road trip before he'll be scheduled for further evaluation, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While he doesn't pack enough of a punch offensively to garner much attention in fantasy circles, Kronwall's absence certainly leaves a gaping hole on the blue line, as he lays bone-crushing hits on opponents and fearlessly gets in the way of shots. Plus, fellow rearguard Brendan Smith (leg) will miss the rest of the trip as well. With those guys out of the lineup, look for more minutes out of Ryan Sproul and Alexey Marchenko.

Kronwall is set for further evaluation after sustaining a lower-body injury in Wednesday's game against the Ducks, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kronwall was limited to 12:13 of ice time in the latest loss, managing only one shot on goal but blocking two. With just one point in the past 15 games, the hard-hitting defender's ownership rates figure to be quite low, but this injury -- no matter how severe it ends up being -- serves up another blow to a Red Wings team that has struggled with injuries and is dangerously close to last place in the Atlantic Division. In the likely event that Kronwall is held out of Thursday's game against the Kings, look for Ryan Sproul to draw into the contest. Of course, Brendan Smith (leg) is also injured, meaning the club may need to summon a player from the minors if it looks like both rearguards will miss this next one.

Kronwall (undisclosed) has been ruled out of the remainder of Wednesday's matchup with Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
The nature of Kronwall's ailment remains unclear, but the Red Wings should release another update on the veteran blueliner's status ahead of Thursday's game against the Kings.

Kronwall will be held out of Saturday's game against the Canadiens due to scheduled maintenance.
EDGE Analysis
Xavier Ouellet will replace Kronwall for the next contest. The Red Wings want to save some wear and tear on Kronwall's right knee, as he's had recurring issues with that body part for nearly a year. The hard-hitting blueliner has only played in nine of a possible 21 games for Detroit this season, and his numbers have suffered -- zero goals on 11 shots, just one assist and a minus-2 rating. Unless you're a die-hard fan of the Winged Wheel, you'll probably want to leave him on the waiver wire.

Kronwall will get a game off Tuesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran returned from a nagging knee injury ten days ago, and it seems like he might still be feeling the effects of the rehab process. He hasn't been stellar since returning, with one point and a negative four plus/minus in five games.

Kronwall (knee) will return to the lineup Friday night against the visiting Jets, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
A previous report indicated that Kronwall wouldn't be ready until next week, but evidently he's made enough progress in his rehab to give it a go Friday. The hard-hitting veteran has been bothered by knee injuries since last January, so we expect him to be eased into the lineup. Currently, we're projecting him to slot on the third pair with Brendan Smith, and it's widely believed that he'll get time on the power play should the opportunity present itself.

Kronwall (knee) is drawing closer to making his season debut, MLive.com reports. "We're having conversations about when he might return to playing," GM Ken Holland said. "If all goes well, hopefully in the next week or so."
EDGE Analysis
Kronwall's return to the lineup would be huge, as the Red Wings have had to rotate rookies Xavier Ouellet and Ryan Sproul on the blue line. Those two guys hold promise offensively, but Kronwall is a fearless veteran who rattles bones with his hits and he's adept at setting up scores. If your fantasy league runs deep, it might be worth checking to see if Kronwall is available on the waiver wire.

Kronwall (knee) did not skate Wednesday morning, ahead of the evening's road tilt against the Rangers, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kronwall remains on injured reserve, even though he's technically eligible to return. Detroit is not known for creating much offense from the blue line, but if you need an alternative to the hard-hitting Kronwall, consider taking a peek at Mike Green, who recorded his first career hat trick in Monday's win over the Senators.

Kronwall (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was a foregone conclusion given all the talk about Kronwall's nagging knee injury. This opens the door wide open for defensive prospects Xavier Ouelett and Ryan Sproul to make an impression from the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

Kronwall (knee) is not expected to play in Thursday's season opener in Tampa Bay, the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kronwall's nagging knee injury has team brass concerned, both in the short- and long-term. He's been dealing with the issue since last January. This all but assures Xavier Ouellet and Ryan Sproul will be available with the parent club Thursday, and Kronwall could ultimately end up on injured reserve.
