Boston's top-six forward group has outperformed Pittsburgh's after two games of the Eastern Conference Finals. When you look at their totals in the playoffs there are plenty of similarities between the two teams, but there is one key difference. Boston's Nathan Horton, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and Jaromir Jagr have combined for 75 points and a plus-54 rating in 14 games, while Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby, Jarome Iginla, Pascal Dupuis, Chris Kunitz and James Neal have totaled 72 points in 13 games but they have a minus-9 rating. The Bruins get plenty of two-way play out of their top forwards and that has been evident through the first two games of the series. Horton leads the postseason with a plus-19 rating.

Nathan Horton generated a goal and an assist in Boston's blowout 6-1 victory over Pittsburgh Monday night. Horton has been on a tear in the playoffs with three goals and eight points during his current four-game scoring streak. He has seven markers and 17 points in 14 games, which places him second in points behind only linemate David Krejci heading into Tuesday night's action. Boston has received plenty of production out of the combination of Horton, Krejci and Milan Lucic during these playoffs.

Nathan Horton has 14 goals and 32 points in 34 career postseason contests. That's a far better pace than Horton has maintained in the regular season. In fact, with 15 points in the 2013 playoffs, Horton is approaching his regular season total of 22 points. Boston's Daniel Paille tried to explain Horton and some of his other teammates' ability to take their game a level higher in the playoffs. "I'm not sure if it's so much boredom, but it's more trying to pace yourself, I guess," he said. "But I think playoffs is when you want to play and you have to work to get there. And I think they obviously did a good enough job for us to get here, and their play speaks for itself right now."

While he isn't leading the 2013 postseason in scoring like David Krejci, Nathan Horton is putting together the kind of playoff run that could make him a lot of money ... even if it's not with the Boston Bruins. Six of Horton's impressive 15 points have come in the last three games. The power forward has a point in all but three of his 13 contests. While his 23.1 percent shooting efficiency isn't likely to last, plenty of suitors are likely to come his way this summer if Boston cannot retain him.

Nathan Horton has been superb so far in the playoffs. Horton has five goals and 12 points in 12 games. He hasn't been held off the scoresheet for more than two consecutive contests in the postseason. He didn't have a particularly good campaign from a fantasy perspective, but he's stepped up when they've needed him the most. That likely won't be forgotten when it comes time to negotiate his new contract. He's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Nathan Horton's third-period goal triggered the Bruins' improbable rally over the Leafs. Down 4-1 with a little more than 14 minutes left, the Bruins had little energy and they were hearing it from the crowd. But Horton's goal provided a jolt. "It was tough there on the bench, getting booed, and looking at the time clock and watching the seconds count down," said Brad Marchand. ... "After [Horton] got that first one for us that started the climb back, we see the emotion on the bench and guys started to believe. That's what we needed."

Linemate David Krejci credited Nathan Horton with taking a hit to make a play on his overtime winner in Game 4 Wednesday night. Toronto captain stepped up on Horton during the extra session, but he managed to get the puck to Krejci who scored his third goal of the contest to give Boston a 3-1 series lead. Horton had two helpers Wednesday night, but failed to score a goal for the first time in four games. Overall, he has six points (three goals, three assists) against Toronto in the series.

Nathan Horton has scored in three straight games against Toronto heading into Game 4 Wednesday night. Two of his markers have been game winners and a result the Bruins hold a 2-1 series lead in their quarterfinal series versus the Maple Leafs. Horton didn't get to play in the postseason last year because of a concussion, so he's excited to be back and competing again. "I just really want to do well," he said. "I'm moving my feet. I'm not thinking too much, just playing my game. Playing better has a lot to do with having a lot of fun. It's only been three games, but it's fun to play in the playoffs, that's for sure." Horton has also chipped in an assist and owns a plus-5 rating. He is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and would like to re-sign with Boston, but with the playoffs still going he isn't thinking about that situation yet.

Nathan Horton had the game-winning goal and an assist in Monday night's 5-2 Game 4 win. Horton's goal turned out to be the game winner after Phil Kessel scored 47 seconds into the third period, but it was the timing of Horton's goal that mattered the most. After throwing shot after shot at the net, the Maple Leafs finally got on the board at 13:45 of the second period to cut Boston's lead to 2-1. Unfortunately for Toronto, Horton scored just 50 seconds later to make it 3-1 and Daniel Paille potted a short-handed goal at 16:37 to up it to 4-1.
