After having his season-long three-game point streak snapped Wednesday, Michalek has only eight points in 22 games this season while averaging 17:19 of ice time.
EDGE Analysis
He's been on the ice quite a lot, but even averaging more than three minutes per game of power-play ice time has yielded just three points (all goals) for Michalek. Now four years removed from his last truly productive season -- 60 points in 2011-12 -- Michalek is of little fantasy interest outside of very deep leagues.

Michalek (undisclosed) will play Wednesday against the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Michalek suffered an undisclosed injury Tuesday when he was hit by a shot in practice, but the 30-year-old winger indicated Wednesday "It's fine, it's just a bruise." Fortunately, that's all the damage inflicted, and he will take the ice for the Senators, and is expected to slot alongside Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Alex Chiasson on the Senators' third line.

Michalek was hit bay a shot in practice Tuesday, and is questionable for Wednesday's tilt against the Flames with an undisclosed injury, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Senators plan to reevaluate Michalek on Wednesday to determine whether or not the 30-year-old winger will be healthy enough to suit up for Wednesday's matchup with Calgary after getting dinged up in practice Tuesday. His availability for the contest should be confirmed prior to puck drop Wednesday night.

Michalek scored Ottawa's third goal of the night in the Senators 4-3 win over Toronto Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
Michalek had a slow start to the season against Buffalo last Thursday with only one shot on goal and 14 minutes of ice-time. Michalek bounced back Saturday night with a hard earned goal in front of the net. The goal lifted Ottawa to a 3-0 commanding lead. Instead of a nail in the coffin goal - the goal kept Ottawa in the game and allowed Ottawa to send the game to overtime and win in the shoot-out.

Michalek mustered only one shot on goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over Buffalo. The Sens forward had zero points and logged less than fifteen minutes of ice time.
EDGE Analysis
Michalek skated for a meager 14 minutes and five seconds in Ottawa's season opener at Buffalo. The Senators forward was only able to tally a single shot on goal. Michalek did not see any ice time on the power play and appears to be implemented as a relief player at best.

Michalek contributed one assist in Saturday's 5-4 win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
Michalek continues to get a respectable amount of ice time - skating for over 20 minutes in Saturday's win. However, Michalek is still more of a grinder as opposed to a goal scorer or play maker.

Michalek (concussion) tallied a goal in his return to the lineup for Wednesday's playoff-opening loss to the Canadiens.
Michalek was the closest Senators player near the puck when the Habs' Andrei Markov put it into his own net to give the visitors an early 1-0 lead. While the goal wasn't technically Michalek's own doing, he nonetheless made an impact right away, as he saw 15:58 of action while coach Dave Cameron deployed him on the Sens' second line. Michalek's reentry into the lineup bumped Mike Hoffman to a bottom-six role.

Michalek (concussion) is slated to play Wednesday against Montreal.
The good news regarding the winger's status was relayed Monday by coach Dave Cameron, who noted that Michalek is set to re-enter the Sens' lineup on Wednesday in place of Zack Smith. Michalek, who last suited up on March 21, finished the regular season with 34 points in 66 games for the Sens.

Michalek (concussion) skated on a line with Bobby Ryan and Mika Zibanejad at Monday's practice, TSN's Brent Wallace reports.
We'll track Michalek's status in the coming days, but assuming no setbacks, that the winger was skating with Ryan and Zibanejad at Monday's practice would appear to bode well for his chances of suiting up Wednesday against the Canadiens.

Coach Dave Cameron said Thursday that Michalek (concussion) is not close to a return.
Cameron indicated Michalek tried to "push it a little bit and didn't feel good" in a recent skate, so it looks like he'll be off the ice for at least the next several days. Don't expect the winger to return to game action before the end of the regular season.
