Rantanen (lower body) will sit out again Thursday, when the Avalanche play host to the Wild, Adrian Dater of BSN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rantanen has been one of the few bright spots on an Avalanche team that has struggled to an abysmal minus-109 goal differential with only three games to go -- he's tacked on 18 goals and 18 assists with 10 man-advantage points as a rookie. We wouldn't be surprised if Colorado's pitiful campaign caused many a fantasy owner to shy away from the winger in shallow redraft leagues, but don't let that be a deterrent since the burly Finn holds immense offensive potential as the 10th overall pick in the 2015 draft.

Rantanen (lower body) won't play Tuesday against Chicago, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's a big loss for the Avalanche, as Rantanen has played well recently, notching four goals and one assist in his last five games. Joe Colborne will likely replace Rantanen in Colorado's lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blackhawks.

Rantanen scored twice in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Rantanen came in without a goal over his past 14 games and had just one assist in the past 12, so this was a surprising offensive outburst. The 2015 first-rounder skates in a second-line role, but his minus-29 rating for the cellar-dwelling Avalanche is a major knock on his value in most formats.

Rantanen posted the game-winning goal with a plus-1 rating in Friday's 2-1 overtime win against the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
Rantanen is on pace for his most productive month of the season, as he has four goals with seven points through nine February games. If you can withstand his dismal minus-22 rating and lack of penalty minutes, Rantanen can be a useful option in deeper pools.

Rantanen scored three times for his first career hat trick in Tuesday's 4-0 win against the Canadiens.
EDGE Analysis
Rantanen struck for two even-strength tallies and a power-play goal in the surprising victory. After a slow start to the season Rantanen is really starting to click. He has posted five goals with an assist over his past five outings. The 19-year-old is just scratching the surface of his immense potential, and he remains a must-have in long-term keeper formats. As far as seasonal play is concerned, he is worth a look in some deeper leagues, but his minus-16 rating is a major deterrent.

Rantanen has put up six goals and 18 points through 36 games this season -- his first in the NHL.
EDGE Analysis
The young rookie is finding a way to rise above the train wreck that is the Avalanche this season, clipping along at a point-every-other-game rate. Rantanen does, however, own an abominable minus-17 rating, but that's more a byproduct of the status of Colorado having the league's worst goal differential than his poor play. Additionally, the 19-year-old has reeled off seven of his points with the man advantage while averaging 3:16 per game there, so the future definitely looks bright for the 2015 first-round pick.

Rantanen scored a third-period goal and registered five shots on net during Friday's overtime win against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie is settling in as a capable secondary scorer for Colorado, but he isn't moving the needle enough to warrant ownership outside of deep seasonal leagues. After all, Rantanen has just five goals, 10 assists and 44 shots through 28 games. However, this might be a ripe buy-low time if you're building for the future in a keeper/dynasty league.

Rantanen scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
He scuffled through his first seven games after being promoted, but the signs of a breakout were there. Well, it's in full force now -- Rantanen has racked up three goals and nine points over his last nine games. The 20-year-old Finn may not maintain such a pace, but he's being given every opportunity, as Tuesday's 18:23 of ice time is well in line with how the Avs have used Rantanen since returning him to the NHL.

Rantanen collected a pair of helpers in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie now has a three-game point streak and has put up six points in his last five games, finally showing signs of why the Avs used their 10th overall pick on him in the 2015 draft. Rantanen is all but snatched up in deeper formats, but those in shallow to medium leagues should take notice, as the 6-foot-4, 211-pound 20-year-old has the physical attributes and pedigree to make an immediate fantasy impact.

Rantanen picked up a goal and a power-play assist in Saturday's win over the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
With this strong effort, the Finn trimmed his rating to minus-4 on the season. Rantanen figures to evolve into an imposing net-front presence, though he's not a great skater and needs to find a way to produce consistently on both ends of the ice.
