Weber, who has missed the past two games with a lower-body injury, may be out for the season, pending another update Monday afternoon and won't play that night.
With a loss Monday night, the Sabres can lock up 30th place, which would hopefully help the team land prized prospect Connor McDavid. If that's the case, there won't be any rush to bring back Weber, who has been the Sabres' most physical defenseman this year. Tyson Strachan and Nikita Zadorov will continue to skate in place of Weber.

Weber (general soreness) didn't travel with the Sabres to Long Island for Saturday's game.
Coach Ted Nolan suggested that Weber's injury could be season-ending, putting his status in doubt for the Sabres' remaining three games after Saturday. Considering that the Sabres were eliminated from playoff contention long ago, it probably makes sense for the team to shut down Weber for good rather than risk him suffering a setback heading into the offseason.

If Weber doesn't suit up, Rasmus Ristolainen will likely join the lineup. While this doesn't sound like a serious injury, Weber may also be in danger of missing Saturday's game against the Islanders.

Weber notched a shorthanded assist in Monday's win over the Coyotes.
The Sabres have received surprising scoring production of late from blueliners Andrej Meszaros and Rasmus Ristolainen, but Weber hasn't really gotten involved in the act, as has been the case throughout his time in the NHL. Weber has just seven points in 63 games this season, and only has reached double-digit scoring once in his seven-year career.

Despite being diagnosed with an upper-body injury that would sideline him for at least two weeks, Weber was a full participant in practice Thursday, reports John Vogl of The Buffalo News.
Weber was a surprise participant, and with head coach Ted Nolan electing to sit Nikita Zadorov as a healthy scratch, Weber will draw in against Vancouver on Thursday. Weber has been a steady physical presence on the blue line and Nolan has been happy with his defense of late.

Coach Ted Nolan indicated that Weber (upper body) will miss at least two weeks.Weber was already ruled out for a significant amount of time, but a better timetable has now been released. While two weeks is the minimum amount of time Weber will miss with the injury, it's also possible his absence extends well beyond that.

Weber (upper body) will out of the lineup for the foreseeable future after leaving Friday's game, reports The Buffalo News.Weber has been one of the Sabres' most physical defenders and it seems to have taken a toll. Weber left in the first period against the Rangers and did not return. There's no timetable for Weber's return but it's safe to assume that he will likely miss the majority of the games remaining.
