Mike Smith allowed three goals on 29 shots as the Coyotes fell to the Kings 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Smith has been pleading for some offensive production, as his teammates just aren't getting the job done of late, essentially leaving him out to dry. While he received help late in this one, he allowed a critical third period powerplay goal which turned out to be the game winner. He falls to 11-10-3 on the year and will look to snap his four-game losing streak in his next start.

It looks like Mike Smith will get the start in goal Tuesday night.
Smith was pulled during his most recent start after he allowed four goals in 22 shots in a loss Monday night. Considering that Smith is clearly the Yotes' top goalie, it appears coach Dave Tippett is hoping Smith will rebound by getting right back on the horse.

Mike Smith was pulled after giving up four goals in only 22 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Kings Monday.
Jason LaBarbera finished up, stopping all five shots in over 12 minutes of action in the third stanza. Smith is now 11-9-3 this season with a mediocre 2.86 GAA and a .900 save percentage, a far cry from the outstanding 2.21 GAA and .930 save percentage of last year.

Mike Smith allowed three goals on 30 shots in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the St. Louis Blues Thursday night.
Despite showing a few different flashes of brilliance during the short season, Smith has had too many rough outings for him to have much fantasy value thus far. Having said that, he's a terrific buy-low candidate if you can obtain him.

Mike Smith shut down the Kings offense, turning aside 31 of the 33 shots he faced in the Coyotes' 5-2 win on Tuesday.
After a rough outing last Thursday in which he allowed six goals, Smith has bounced back with two straight solid performances. His GAA remains high at just under 3.00 and his save percentage is just under .900, both of which are discouraging. However, the 30-year-old netminder has been a decent source for wins. Hopefully he can reclaim some of the magic he found last season down the stretch this year.

Mike Smith is expected to get the start in goal Tuesday night.
Smith had one of his better games this season on Saturday night, stopping 20 of 21 shots in a 2-1 win. It was a sorely needed effort for the Coyotes netminder, who has a 2.96 GAA and a .897 save percentage on the season. Hopefully for fantasy owners that start will be the beginning of a turnaround.

Mike Smith kicked away 20 shots in the Coyotes' 2-1 triumph versus the Stars on Saturday night.
Just what Smith needed after a terrible game against the Blues in which he gave up six goals. In fact, he had yielded 18 goals over his last four games prior to this one. It has all contributed to a disappointing campaign for Smith, who has a 3.08 goals-against average and .894 save percentage on the season.

Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith has not delivered the results fantasy owners were hoping for.
In addition to missing some time with a lower body injury, Smith sports a 3.07 GAA and .894 save percentage to go along with a 9-7-2 record. In addition, the former member of the Lightning has allowed four or more goals in each of his last four starts. Considering he recently finished a stretch of 15 straight starts and has posted three shutouts, we're inclined to chalk up his early season struggles to random variation and call him a buy-low candidate.

Smith has been shaky at best this season and his fantasy value has diminished considerably from last season.

Goaltender Mike Smith turned aside 27 of the 31 shots he faced in regulation and overtime to help the Phoenix Coyotes edge the visiting Anaheim Ducks in a shootout Monday night.
Incredibly, Smith stopped 27 of 31 shots in a 5-4 shootout victory over the same Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.
