The Yotes will most likely split the work throughout the year.

Smith had a few tough outings this year, but he went on a tear in mid-March and proven he's still capable of stealing games. When he's healthy, the veteran goaltender is a fantasy gem.

It's the regular-season finale for both teams. Smith had a whopping 42 regulation losses last season, but he's trimmed that number down to 12 this campaign. Of course, he's made 30 fewer starts than a year ago, largely due to a core muscle injury that required surgery and forced the 'Yotes to patch the net with a rotation of rookie tenders, including Louis Domingue, who's made 36 starts of his own. Unfortunately, even though Smith has improved this year, his GAA is currently at 2.69, which has him ranked 33rd in the league -- there's simply not much to like about that stat in fantasy land.

Smith saved 28 of 31 shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Nashville.

Smith looked razor sharp for most of the contest, nursing a 2-0 lead going into the third period. Unfortunately, the netminder (and Arizona's defense) unraveled in the waning moments of the game. Nashville tied it up in the last minute, and went on to win just 20 seconds into overtime. The 34-year-old has now been unable to pick up a win in two straight, giving up eight goals and owning a .856 save percentage in that short span.

Smith will be in the blue paint Thursday to take on Nashville.

EDGE Analysis

With the exception of his last start (a 5-2 loss to St. Louis), Smith has been lights out since returning from a lower-body injury on March 12. Ignoring his most recent start, Smith has gone 5-2-0 with a 1.29 GAA and a .962 save percentage. Smith faces a Predators team that recently snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 over Colorado, and will be looking to maintain some momentum as they enter the playoffs.
