Mike Richards had a goal and an assist in Los Angeles' 4-3 double-overtime loss Saturday night. Richards returned from what was believed to be a concussion for this game and did all he could. However, the Kings were still eliminated from the playoffs. Anze Kopitar also had a goal and an assist for the Kings. Dwight King netted a shorthanded goal at 9:28 of the second period. Jeff Carter, Slava Voynov, and Justin Williams each registered an assist for Los Angeles. Matt Greene recorded a team-high 10 hits. If Mike Richards (upper body) plays on Saturday, he might start on the Kings' fourth line. Richards, who is believed to be recovering from a concussion, could get more playing time depending on how he does. Kings coach Darryl Sutter listed the chances of Richards playing at "50-50."

Kings coach Darryl Sutter thinks there's a "50-50" chance Mike Richards (upper body) will play on Saturday. Richards participated in Saturday's practice as he recovers from what's believed to be a concussion. Richards hasn't been able to play since Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. The Kings are down 3-1 in their series against the Chicago Blackhawks going into Saturday's contest.

Mike Richards (upper body) participated in the Kings' Saturday morning skate. It would be a surprise if Richards, who is believed to have a concussion, played Saturday night, but this is still a good sign. He hasn't played since June 1.

Mike Richards, who has been sidelined for four consecutive games with concussion-like symptoms, is unlikely to join the Los Angeles Kings for Game 5 in the Western Conference final series against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight. Facing elimination and down 3-1 in the best-of-seven series to the Hawks, the Kings would love to have their leading offensive player in the lineup but LA coach Darryl Sutter said it was "really doubtful at best" that Richards would be in the lineup for Game 5. Richards has done some light skating - the team was not on the ice Friday - and attended the Kings' last two games, in the press box for the latter. His presence at Staples Center was a positive development because often individuals suffering from severe concussion symptoms are sensitive to lights and noise and are advised to steer clear of those situations.

Mike Richards (upper body) has been ruled out for Game 4. It will mark the third straight game he has missed since being hit hard by Chicago's Dave Bolland in Game 1.

Mike Richards (upper body) skated for about 20 minutes on Wednesday. This is a positive step after it was reported that he had been suffering from concussion-like symptoms. However, he did not take any contact in the optional session and he skated with a light-to-moderate pace. There's still no timetable for his return and he should probably be considered questionable for Game 4 on Thursday night.

Mike Richards (upper body) will not play in Tuesday's Game 3. This isn't much of a surprise for anyone. Richards wasn't at Tuesday's morning skate and reportedly is dealing with concussion-like symptoms following a hit by Dave Bolland in Game 1. While we are unlikely to get any sort of official confirmation, the concussion speculation will grow the longer Richards is out.

Mike Richards reportedly has concussion-like symptoms. Richards missed Game 2 with what was labeled as an upper-body injury. It's likely that he was hurt when he was hit by Dave Bolland late in Game 1. Richards was initially projected to play on Sunday despite the hit. "He was fine all day, but I think once he got to the United Center last night, he starts thinking about being a warrior and then the blood starts pumping and then he starts going through his routine and then you go through your meeting and you go out for warm-up, and then he knows himself," Kings coach Darryl Sutter said. Sutter wouldn't speculate on the possibility of Richards playing on Tuesday, but if he really is dealing with a concussion, then we'd doubt he'll be in Game 3.
