Mike Richards has been averaging roughly a point per game since his early season slump.
Richards has 17 points in 18 contests after being held off the scoresheet in the Kings' first 22 games. He struggled offensively during his first season with the Kings, but did far better in the 2012 playoffs. It's probably best to just ignore his 44-point 2011-12 campaign and regard him as a player that will typically average a step below a point-per-game.

Even as the Los Angeles Kings struggle, Mike Richards is really picking up his game.
Richards had both of the Kings' goals (each on the power play) as Los Angeles fell 3-2 to the Chicago Blackhawks. Four of his nine points this season have come in the last games. His 30 PIM made him reasonably valuable even when the offense wasn't coming, but perhaps this production is a sign of a strong season ahead.

Coach Darry Sutter hinted at the fact Mike Richards' conditioning could be an issue Saturday.
When asked why Richards, who has received less than 16 minutes of ice time in each of the last three games, has had his role reduced lately, Sutter said "We're trying to watch ice time with these guys. Some of these guys, quite honest, didn't do what they should've done in the summer. We've had to scale minutes back, and less is more." This might explain the lack of production for Richards thus far, but doesn't exactly make us hopeful about his ability to rebound.

Mike Richards pleased his fantasy owners with a solid stat line in a 4-2 win over Columbus Tuesday.
Not only did the former Flyer register a goal and an assist in the contest, but his second period scuffle with the Jackets' Brandon Dubinsky got him 19 minutes in the sin bin. Jeff Carter, Anze Kopitar and Slava Voynov all found the back of the net in the win.

Team Mike Richards dropped a 5-3 decision to Team Andrew Ladd in a road hockey game with fans and other Winnipeg players at The Forks parkade on Tuesday afternoon.
The impromptu contest was set up by Cabbie Richards of TSN. Mike Richards was asked what what he's been doing during the lockout and his answer was similar to the one several players have had. "Not much. I'm just trying to stay in shape to be ready for hopefully when we do settle and get back on the ice," said the Los Angeles center. "The fans are missing hockey just as much as we are. We're not only the players of the game, we're fans of the game and we miss being around the guys and around competitive hockey."

Mike Richards has started skating in Winnipeg amid the NHL's work stoppage.
"I've never gone through this before but I try to keep in the loop as much as possible," he said. "We just listen to Don (Fehr, NHLPA executive director) and the NHLPA and obviously we have full confidence in them and are going to stand together." Richards posted 15 points in 20 playoff games to help the Kings win the Stanley Cup in the spring, but the delay of the 2012-13 campaign has put a damper on what should have been an exciting time for hockey in Los Angeles.

Mike Richards brought the Stanley Cup home to Kenora, Ontario on Saturday, where he was greeted by 4,000 people.
"To bring something I've been dreaming about for 27 years back to Kenora is pretty cool," he said to the crowd. "I want to thank everybody for their support not only last season, but my entire career. Every time I come home, everybody is behind me." A winner wherever he goes, Richards is the only player that has raised the Memorial Cup, the Calder Cup and the Stanley Cup. He also has captured two gold medals for Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championships and in 2010 at the Olympics. Richards posted four goals and 15 points for the Kings in 20 playoff contests.
