Mike Ribeiro will center the Capitals' second line between Wojtek Wolski and Troy Brouwer. That's pretty much how it was for the week of training camp. Things might change when Brooks Laich is healthy and ready to return to action. For now, the other top two Caps' lines will be as follows: Marcus Johansson-Nicklas Backstrom-Alexander Ovechkin, Jason Chimera-Jay Beagle-Joel Ward. Look for Ribeiro to put in his typical .8 points per season effort resulting in 35 points.

Mike Ribeiro says he initially predicted that the NHL season would begin in December and he's holding to that claim. "That's why I didn't go overseas," he said on Thursday. "I believed we would have a lockout that would not last more than a month and a half and we would start a season at the start of December. These are smart businessmen and both parties are smart enough to not miss a full year. It looks like both sides have taken a step forward and I'm hoping we get a deal done soon." Ribeiro skated with his new Washington teammates in September, but of late he's been coaching the hockey teams of his two young sons and working out on his own.

Don't be surprised if Mike Ribeiro gets an opportunity to play on the Capitals' first power-play unit even if he is slated as the team's second-line center. That should make him extremely valuable from a fantasy perspective and could boost his point total to between 70-80 for the upcoming season. We like Ribeiro as a sleeper pick in 2012-13.

The Washington Capitals grabbed Mike Ribeiro from the Dallas Stars for Cody Eakin and the 54th overall pick in 2012. Ribeiro fills a need that the Capitals have been dealing with for years: second-line center. Ribeiro can be a polarizing figure, but he's absolutely a legitimate No. 2. In fact, with a 63-point season last year and a 73-point output in 2011-12, he might even be a "1b." Either way, it's a great move by Washington.

Mike Ribeiro and a number of other Dallas players sat out the season finale against the Blues with an assortment of injuries. With nothing on the line Ribeiro, Steve Ott, Sheldon Souray, Stephane Robidas, Radek Dvorak and Mark Fistric were scratched due mostly to nagging ailments. We will find out the extent of those injuries in the coming days.

The Dallas Stars lost, but perhaps that frustration inspired Mike Ribeiro to draw a game misconduct penalty. Those 10 penalty minutes are likely to be a much bigger help for fantasy owners than the assist Ribeiro generated. Those penalty minutes are especially satisfying because they were so unexpected - and could swing a few final rounds that are still going on.

Mike Ribeiro has two goals and four assists in his last six games. Ribeiro won't reach the 70-point mark for the second straight season, but that's primarily due to the knee injury he suffered in January. Ribeiro has 54 points in 64 contests this season, and we wouldn't be surprised if he records another 10 points in the Stars' final 11 contests.

Mike Ribeiro scored two goals and one assist in the Dallas Stars' impressive 5-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks. Ribeiro now has 16 tallies and 52 points in 60 games played, making him an underrated commodity in fantasy this season. His pesty demeanor has helped him get a very solid 46 PIM, so anyone who snatched him moderately late can feel good about the move.

Mike Ribeiro has had a tremendous amount of success against Calgary in his career. The Stars play the Flames Sunday night and Ribeiro has nine career goals in 27 games against Calgary including a highlight reel marker in overtime on February 16th. We would make sure Riebeiro is in our lineup Sunday.

Mike Ribeiro scored a goal in the Stars' 3-0 win over Montreal Tuesday. It was Ribeiro's first appearance at the Bell Centre since his departure from Montreal in 2006 and he didn't disappoint with his performance. Ryan Garbutt also scored the first goal of his NHL career in the win while Tom Wandell counted his fourth of the season.
