Ottawa Senators left wing Mike Hoffman was awarded a one-year, $2 million contract in arbitration Monday, according to NHL.com. Hoffman had 27 goals and 21 assists in a breakout year after having just six career points in his previous 29 career games.

Hoffman collected a pair of assists in Friday's Game 5 win over Montreal. After scoring the game-winner in Game 4, Hoffman got right back to the offense Friday. The 25-year-old has turned it up in these last two games, firing seven shots on goal and recording three points to help the Sens fend off elimination. With Ottawa now trailing Montreal 3-2 in the first round, look for Hoffman to have another strong outing in Game 6 Sunday at the Canadian Tire Center.

Hoffman scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Canadiens. Hoffman was wide open at the top of the circle midway through the third period, and wristed one past Carey Price with Mika Zibanejad providing a screen in front. That would turn out to be the game's only tally, so Hoffman's first NHL playoff point went on to be the game winner.

That's quite an impressive amount of production for a player who often served as a healthy scratch during the first month of the season.

Hoffman registered an empty-net goal and two assists in Monday's 5-2 win over the Sharks. Hoffman had been in the midst of a dry spell following three points in the first four games of March as he then failed to work his way on to the scoresheet in six straight, but he appears to have snapped out of it as he's now tallied two goals and two assists in the past two games. The 25-year-old is now up to 46 points on the season, and figures to be a reliable option down the stretch now that's he's seemingly ended his brief cold spell.

Hoffman scored his 24th goal of the season and had six shots on goal in Sunday's win over the Flames. Hoffman continues to roll and has only been held off the scoresheet twice in his last 13 games. Considering he's producing at close to a point-per-game pace of late and sports an impressive plus-24 rating, there is no reason the 25-year-old shouldn't be in your lineup every game.

Hoffman scored twice and added a helper in Saturday's win over San Jose. Hoffman has recorded at least one point in all but two of his last 13 games and has scored six goals in his last eight games. He's simply on fire right now. With an impressive-plus 23 rating and 23 goals in 57 games, the 25-year-old has been one of the best fantasy surprises this season. He's become an automatic roll every game.
