Hoffman opened the scoring and added an assist Friday in a 5-4 shootout loss to New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
Ending the skid should make an already effective Hoffman even more useful moving forward, as he'd been scoring points but not getting goals before Friday. As Ottawa tries to stave off injuries, Hoffman will be called upon even more than usual, and the opportunity should pay off for his fantasy owners.

Hoffman contributed an assist in Thursday's win over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman hasn't scored in five games, but he's been producing steadily, managing three assists in his last four contests. The 27-year-old has racked up three goals and seven points through 10 contests and remains a dynamic fantasy player. His minus-6 rating isn't ideal right now, but Hoffman possesses a lethal shot and is capable of tearing it up on any given night. With the rate he's producing at, Hoffman makes for a safe fantasy play whenever Ottawa is in action.

Hoffman provided two even-strength goals and an assist in Saturday night's 6-1 road rout over the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
The prolific point producer connected on half of his shots in this contest, and now Hoffman is tied with Nashville's Viktor Arvidsson for a 10th-place ranking at 22 shots on goal through five games. As long as he's putting this much rubber on net, Hoffman deserves to be treated as a No. 1 or 2 fantasy forward.

Hofman scored his first goal of the season and posted seven shots on goal during a 6-0 victory against the Flames on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The only other Senators skater with more than two shots on goal Friday was Ryan Dzingel, who posted four. Hoffman was all over the ice and scored a power-play marker at the beginning of the third period. The 27-year-old has been extremely consistent the last three years, scoring between 26 and 27 goals each season. In 2016-17, 13 of his 26 goals came on the power play. Although 30 goals isn't out of the question, owners should expect the same type of production this season.

Hoffman (illness) is in the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman was able to participate in morning skates so it was obvious he was at least on his way to full health. He slots in on the third line and is looking for his first point of the season, even though he's had plenty of chances with over 10 minutes of power-play time in the first two games.

Hoffman (illness) returned to the ice Tuesday morning ahead of a road match with the Canucks, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the two games that the Senators have played to start the new season -- both losses -- Hoffman's been held pointless to go along with a minus-3 rating and seven empty shots on goal. He's shaping up to be a game-time call for this next contest.

Hoffman is under the weather with the flu and missed practice Monday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman's status for Tuesday's contest with Vancouver is up in the air, as it likely depends on the severity of his symptoms. In the event the winger can't play, Logan Brown will likely slot into the lineup -- with coach Guy Boucher forced to shuffle up the Sens' line combinations.

Hoffman started the year with a pair of first-period markers in Ottawa's 6-2 preseason win over Toronto on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman appears to be in midseason form already, as he picked up where he left off last season. He looks like he'll be good for his fourth consecutive 25-goal season and should be one of the Senators' top weapons this year.

Hoffman scored the winning goal in Tuesday's 2-1 Game 6 triumph over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman rocketed one from the top of the circle past the outstretched glove of Matt Murray to break a 1-1 tie 1:34 into the third period, then let goalie Craig Anderson and the Ottawa defense do the rest. The skilled winger also brought a physical element, leading the Senators with five hits as they staved off elimination. Four of his 11 points this postseason have come in the past four games.

Hoffman scored a goal and an assist during Wednesday's Game 3 win over Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman entered Wednesday's contest with four goals and seven points through 14 playoff games, and this was just his second multi-point showing of the postseason. He's a streaky scorer and is capable of piling up offensive totals in a hurry. If Ottawa is going to advance past Pittsburgh, Hoffman will probably need to continue to make an offensive impact.
