Neuvirth saved 8-of-9 shots before being pulled in favor of Carter Hart in Monday's 3-1 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth drew the start for Monday's contest and guarded the blue paint for 30 minutes, allowing one goal on nine shots. The 6-foot-1 netminder had offseason surgery on both his hips but clearly looks healthy and ready to battle Brian Elliott for the starting job with the Flyers.

Neuvirth (hip) is expected to start Monday's preseason matchup with the Islanders, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With his hip injury seemingly behind him, Neuvirth can turn is his focus an challenging Brian Elliott (abdomen) for the No. 1 job in Philadelphia. Carter Hart -- long considered the netminder of the future for the Flyers -- figures to finish out Monday's contest.

Per general manager Ron Hextall, Neuvirth is "doing extremely well" in his rehab from surgery on both hips, Dave Isaac of the Cherry Hill Courier-Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth finished the final three games of the conference quarterfinals against Pittsburgh in the blue paint, but surgery was necessary for the 30-year-old's longevity in the league. He's considered one of the NHL's strongest backups, recording a .915 save percentage and 2.60 GAA in 22 appearances for the Flyers last year. Neuvirth is poised for at least 25 starts if he can begin the season healthy, and that number could shoot up if starter Brian Elliott (abdomen) isn't ready in time. Fantasy owners should be aware that Philly could quickly turn into a situation that plays the hot hand down the stretch.

Neuvirth will require arthroscopic surgery on each hip this offseason, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth missed 25 games between Feb. 20 - April 15 before Flyers coach Dave Hakstol, who was desperate for answers in goal after Brian Elliott failed to impress in the conference quarterfinals, put him in against the Penguins for Games 3-6. The Czech backstop would end up winning Game 5 last Friday, but still ended up with a putrid .847 save percentage against the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions. Neuvirth, who will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2018-19 campaign, reportedly will stay back in Philadephia as he recovers from his surgeries.

Neuvirth stopped only 20 of 27 shots in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Penguins in Game 6.
EDGE Analysis
Sound defensive play was only a rumor in this one, but much of the blame for the series-deciding loss can be laid at the 30-year-old netminder's skates as well -- the Flyers held a 4-2 lead midway through the second period before everything fell apart. Both Neuvirth and Brian Elliott are heading into the final years of their contracts in 2018-19, so while the campaign ended on a sour note for Neuvirth, he'll have plenty to play for after posting a solid 2.60 GAA and .915 save percentage in 22 regular-season games for the Flyers this season.

Neuvirth will be the home starter in Game 6 against the Penguins on Sunday, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's no surprise that Neuvirth will be back in the blue paint after he steered away 30 of 32 shots in Game 5, including a point-blank shot from Sidney Crosby in the last minutes of the game. That was Neuvirth's first start since February, but it's clear he's anything but rusty. The 30-year-old backstop is a high upside pick as he looks to force Game 7.

Neuvirth allowed two goals on 32 shots to stave off elimination and lead the Flyers to a 4-2 victory over the Penguins on Friday. The Penguins still lead the series 3-2.
EDGE Analysis
With Brian Elliott struggling in this series, the Flyers turned to Neuvirth with their season on the line, and he pulled through with some very timely saves. Neuvirth helped the Flyers kill five penalties and saved a glorious chance from Sidney Crosby in the final minute to preserve a 1-goal lead. If the Flyers are going to force a Game 7, Neuvirth is going to have to be spectacular again on Sunday.

Neuvirth is pegged to start Game 5 against the Penguins on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brian Elliott started in goal for the first four games of the series, but he was yanked twice and recorded an ugly .856 save percentage and 4.74 GAA. Neuvirth relieved Elliott in Game 4, and he allowed two goals on 13 shots. However, the 30-year-old goalie has played in just four periods since Feb. 18, so just because head coach Ron Hextall is going all in with Neuvirth, he could be a risky pick for most fantasy leagues, especially on the road.

Neuvirth replaced Brian Elliott against the Penguins in Wednesday's Game 4. He allowed two goals on 13 shots in a 5-0 defeat.
EDGE Analysis
This was Neuvirth's first playoff action, and only his second appearance in Philadelphia's last 26 games. Brian Elliott has really struggled in these playoffs, and the Flyers are now facing elimination. Neuvirth had a .915 save percentage, which was highest among Philly goalies, so it wouldn't be surprising if the 30-year-old got a start in Game 5.

Neuvirth (lower body) will serve as Brian Elliott's backup for Wednesday's Game 4 against the Penguins, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It wouldn't be surprising to see Neuvirth called into action at some point now that he's healthy, as Elliott has been extremely inconsistent during the Flyers' first-round matchup with Pittsburgh, surrendering five goals en route to blowout defeats in Games 1 and 2 of the series. However, Neuvirth will have some rust to shake off after having missed more than two weeks due to a lower-body ailment, so things could get ugly if Philadelphia is forced to call on him against the Penguins' ferocious offense.
