Grabner will make his Devils debut during Saturday night's home game against the Islanders, NHL.com reports.

The fleet-footed Austrian reportedly will assume a spot on the second line, opposite Kyle Palmieri with Pavel Zacha working down the middle. It doesn't appear that he'll be asked to resuscitate a power-play unit that ranks 20th overall, but Grabner scores plenty of goals at even strength. Prior to his trade from the Blueshirts, he'd scored 25 times in 59 games.

The Rangers traded Grabner to the Devils in exchange for a second-round pick and prospect Igor Rykov on Thursday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

It will be interesting to see if he can maintain his career-high 19.4 shooting percentage, but if he can, Grabner has a chance to set a new career best in goals.

Grabner isn't being featured on the power play, but has been skating on the top six, and should continue to see opportunities in the offensive end. Additionally, the Austrian's 23 goals already is the third best mark of his career, and since he's firing off the puck frequently -- his 124 shots on goal is second most on the Rangers, only trailing Rick Nash -- he's a strong candidate to hit the 30-goal plateau.

Grabner's flu-like symptoms will only cost him one game in the press box, and Daniel Catenacci will be a healthy scratch in his return. The 30-year-old has excelled in lighting the lamp this season as he's already posted 20 goals in 46 games, already just seven shy of his total from 2016-17.
