Read (wrist) is back on the ice skating and is set to participate in training camp, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Read underwent the minor surgery in June. Injury aside, the past couple of seasons have been frustrating offensively for Read, failing to reach the 20-goal plateau since the 2013-14 campaign. "Yeah, it's been frustrating, but if it's not working you have to change something to fix it," Read said. "That's kind of what I've been doing." The 30-year-old right wing has changed everything in his offseason program in order to return to the player he was in 2011-12 and 2013-14. Last season, Read netted 11 goals with 15 assists in 79 games.

Read underwent surgery on his thumb Wednesday, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Read missed just three games all year while averaging 15:15 in ice time in those outings. Given his consistency, it is unlikely the 30-year-old will miss any time next season. Despite his durability, fantasy owners are unlikely to be clamoring over each other to pick up the winger as he managed just 11 goals and 15 helpers and ending the campaign on a 22-game scoreless streak.

Read collected a power-play goal and two PIM in Friday's 3-1 win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a mostly quiet season for Read, who's on pace to match his lackluster point total (30) from last season. With diminishing ice time -- he played just 13 minutes on Friday -- his fantasy value is limited. Still, the Flyers are pushing for a playoff spot, and Read has been known to find a streak. Proceed with tempered optimism.

Read bagged his eighth goal of the season, an empty-netter, in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
With just two points in his last eight games, the empty-netter is a welcome score for owners. Read has no doubt struggled this season, and only managed 12 minutes of ice time on Tuesday. His fourth-line status diminishes what little fantasy value he does have.

Read had a big afternoon Saturday, tallying a goal and dishing out two helpers in a 4-0 win over the visiting Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Read was great in the matinee affair, as he also skated to a plus-3 and fired five shots on goal -- giving him 11 in the last two games after recording just one SOG in the previous three before that. The Bemidji State product continues to serve as a solid energy guy and occasional source of depth scoring (15 points in 39 games) in the Flyers' bottom six, but doesn't provide much by way of fantasy value at this point given his current fourth-line assignment.

Read assisted on Sean Couturier's goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win against Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
Read has fell short of expectations last season, and is on pace to do so again. With the Flyers heating up -- they're finally above .500 -- Read is worth monitoring in certain formats. If he can string together a points streak, he could find his way onto some fantasy rosters.

Read potted a goal and finished plus-2 in Thursday's 4-2 over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a rough season thus far for the 29-year-old winger. He's on pace for just 22 points, even fewer than last season and well short of the career-high 47 points he posted in 2011. He's seeing plenty of ice time, he's simply not capitalizing on it. If you're starting Read regularly with the hope he'll bounce back, you've likely got more productive options on your bench.

Reed has tallied two goals and one assist in 11 games during the 2015-16 campaign.
EDGE Analysis
Read is coming off a year where he failed to meet offensive expectations and is looking for a bounce back season in 2015-16. Thus far, Read has been far from impressive as he hasn't found the back of the net in the past six contests while playing on the talented second line with Wayne Simmonds and Scott Laughton. Read is still averaging 15 minutes of ice time a game and has a chance to see additional playing time on the second-unit power play if Michael Raffl continues to be unproductive.

Read scored the Flyers' first goal of the season Thursday, tallying in the second period of what turned out to be a 3-2 overtime loss.
EDGE Analysis
The fifth-year man is looking to improve after seeing his offensive production decline significantly last year, with his points dropping by 10 and his shots on goal by nine despite the fact that he played five more games than the year before. Read did, however, only play 13:10 in this one, and it'll be difficult for him to maintain consistent offensive production with such modest ice time.

Read tallied the Flyers' lone goal in Saturday's season finale against the Senators. Read closed 2014-15 with eight goals and 30 points over 80 games. While he wasn't counted on to be much more than a complementary scorer heading into the season, Read failed to live up to even those modest expectations, as the goal total was less than half of what he posted a year earlier (22). Much of the blame for that decline probably lies in his 5.6 shooting percentage this season, which was nearly seven points less than his career mark.
