The consistent solid play of the 24-year-old has cemented his role at the NHL level and down the road if fellow puck-moving D-man Torey Krug misses any time, it's conceivable that Grzelcyk could fill in on the power play, an assignment that would boost his fantasy profile.

Grzelcyk recorded a pair of helpers in a season-high 19:48 of ice time in Wednesday's win over the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Grzelcyk had gone 11 straight games without recording a point before the multi-point outburst and isn't known for creating offense. He's worth a look in some deeper leagues due to his plus-10 rating and role on the second power-play unit, but the rookie will need to show more consistency on a nightly basis to be worth owning in most settings.

Grzelcyk continues to see ice time with the man advantage, despite being stuck in an 11-game goalless streak.

EDGE Analysis

During his drought, Grzelcyk is averaging 1:17 of ice time with the man advantage, but has nothing to show for it. The blueliner did secure one helper in the midst of that stretch, but it came at even strength. If the Charlestown, Massachusetts native can't figure out his game soon, he not only might get bumped from the power play, but could also find himself back in the minors where he began the season.

The promotion of Grzelcyk could indicate that Torey Krug (upper body) is still ailing and could miss Wednesday's contest in New Jersey and possibly beyond. Grzelcyk was reassigned to AHL Providence on Monday.

Filling in for the now-healthy Torey Krug, Grzelcyk was in the lineup for the season-opening win against Nashville on Thursday, finishing with no points and a plus-1 rating. Grzelcyk's demotion isn't an indictment of his play, but more a product of the established Krug offering a very similar skillset on the blue line. A dynamic skater with good vision, Grzelcyk will likely get another recall if the Bruins defense corps is hit by additional injuries.
